RE: Go North East - Latest
How about 8308-9 for the X7? Passenger numbers would fit, speed is okay, and you need 4.. Maybe 8319 could be a Pinocchio spare... A real spare bus ready for action. That would probably be for the first time in years that such a thing existed...

That's a good idea, Wear Tee's XPRESS on a Versa wold look good then it might havea full day of Versa's instead of changing buses every few run's :p

Just as an observation - A photo taken in Concord of the coffee bike and 4 from earlier this week, has appeared on the GNE feed - it appears to have been taken in the same place as where the two older guys (mentioned earlier in the week) were positioned in.

Then what do you do about the 39? The whole point of Versas to the 39 is to release 603-6 to Washington to allow 566-9 to move to Percy Main.
RE: Go North East - Latest
There whole list of possibilities of what could happen with Versas 8306-8309, I think we should go for a process of Elimination on Services that have a PVR of 4.

9/39/700/X7/X40/X66 - Obviously there is more, although some of these i.e. the X66 wouldn't be Viable.

From a Personal Standpoint I'd put 8306-8309 on the 700, and then put the 628 and the 3 Hybrids on the 39 allowing for 603-606 to move to Washington to allow 566-569 to move to Percy Main, As for the X7 goes, Allocate that 4 Solars off the FAB56 in January once the Geminis Arrive.

Remember that the 9 is proposed to change to have an increased PVR of 7, as per recent consultation.
39 has a PVR of 5 (+3 inc. shorts, but these will be replaced if consultation results are positive).
X40 has a PVR of 3 does it not?

Of course the X66 is not feasible at all.

700 needs to be Euro 5. The Drifter/SP Versas are Euro 4.

Plus the requirement for the X40 was bendy buses. A factor in GNE winning the contract over Arriva.

Well it looks like the X7 is the only suitable option at the Moment, I can't see where else 8306-8309 could go, The 9 could work with 4 Versas and 3 Omnicities, but knowing Percy Main they'll just throw anything on the 9, so that would be pointless, X40 is 3 with 1 Spare making a total of 4 otherwise all my suggestions have been blown out of the Water so to speak.

So Adam, can you now answer Kuyoyo's question? Tongue

Someone did mention earlier that 8319 could be used alongside 8306-09 on the 39...

What if the 36/36A is Withdrawn as a Result of the Consultation, would the Cadets used on there not be a plausible solution to then release 603-606 to Washington if 8306-8309 are to be used elsewhere.

There you go Daniel.

(22 Oct 2013, 5:54 pm)Michael wrote I noticed they said good morning a tad early this morning but i was half a sleep XD

It is much better but they still should shut the wall on a night.

I noticed that the "Pronto" colour on the fleet allocation list has changed to Dark blue background and light green writing

As I said on withdrawal of OK1 the Pronto should be re-branded OK Expressway, and when the X21 gets new vehicles would obviously be the time to do it. It is historically (more or less) the main OK route and the name does seem to have local loyalty and support - and it's a much nicer livery than the Pronto.
RE: Go North East - Latest
Not a bad idea!

This is what I think will happen!
603/4/5/6 - Services W5/W6
8269/70/71/72/73 - Service 39.
4920/22/24 - Percy Main, service 9.
8306/07/08/09 - Service X36.

I really hope they re-do the Pronto brand when it gets Citaro's, it would work if it was branded as OK

Probably me just being thick, but I can't find any consultation on the Go North East site about the 36/36A (and I gather from other posts the 9 and 26 as well). Could some kind soul put the link on here please?

Thanks
David

GNE stopped online consulations quite awhile ago, GNE only does it by consulation leaflets on the bus services that would be affected.

Nexus travelshop at Sunderland Interchange has the consulation leaflets in next to GNE timetables.

Yes!!

In what respects do you mean?

Is it shutting down because i'm sure i read the new depot will be doing what saltmeadows does now, they will have places for repaints etc?

Saltmeadows is not changing. Stores, Body Shop and the Low Cost Unit all remain as they are now.

523/4/5/6 could move to Peterlee to replace 501/02/03/10 and 527/8/9/30/31/70 could move to Consett to replace 515/6/7/8/9/20!

501/02/03/04/05/10/14/15/16/17/18/19/20 should then be withdrawn!

542/47 should then replace 521/22!

What do you think of the idea's David?

I like all of their idea's, People in Castletown haven't had a 20 min service in year's.. only problem is will the 26 be reliable because of its route?

Wonder how often the Special peak time service will run? - Every 15 mins?

That would be pointless for the sake of like 6 weeks until the Solo SR's arrive for the Venture Services.

Michael, I don't live in Sunderland any more so I'm not really in a position to comment apart from wondering if Stagecoach will re-act to the rerouting of the X36 through Carley Hill - perhaps provide a service across the Alexandra Bridge?

There's also a bit of an irony about the revised 26 serving almost every bit of Northern's 'traditional' Sunderland territory apart from the bit (City to Pennywell) that it originally served.

Ah right =), I like the 26 idea, it just replaces the short 39's (Park Lane to Doxford Park) - Wonder if the new proposed X36 could get branded?

Never thought about how Stagecoach would react, don't think they would launch a new bus route, more of a diversion for a service around that area, like they did with the 16 when it started to serve Witherwack to replace the 7.
