RE: EYMS: Latest News & Discussion
Thats a lot of dead mileage for Stagecoach to run the Bridlington Park and Ride.

Anyway Whilst in a failed attempt in looking for Volvo B7TL 6941 after its repaint from EYMS livery to 2016 GNE livery another EYMS repaint caught my eye in the shape of ADL Enviro 400 number 779 (A17EYC) in what looks to be EYMS Burgundy and Cream in the style of the GNE 2016 livery, it could also possibly a base for an advert, I guess we just have to wait and see as I only got to see it for a brief moment as it was shunted around between the bays at GNE's Saltmeadows depot this afternoon. https://www.flickr.com/photos/gjm-photog...0274143133

A tweet later in the day indirectly disputed the 2 year timescale, saying "...£6m investment in new and improved buses for this year...". I suspect one may have been referencing actual years, while the other a financial year which splits across two actual years but I can only speculate on that one.
https://twitter.com/MartijnGNE/status/11...56741?s=20

The £6m appears to include the 7 National Express coaches already delivered and in service (1-7), 2 new single deckers split between Bridlington and Pocklington, 11 new double deckers for Hull and 16 refurbished buses for Scarborough.

Steven Knight Media has included some more information in their piece on the launch today:

Besides the seven Volvo B11RT/Caetano Levante III vehicles already in service on National Express work two Enviro 200MMCs are on order for Pocklington and Bridlington (we understand these comprise a 10.8m and an 11.8m vehicles. Also due for Hull are 11 Enviro 400MMCs. The E200MMCs and the Enviro 400MMCs will all be built at ADL’s Scarborough site.

A further 16 double deck buses will be rebuilt to as new condition for the Scarborough operation. It is not known if these will be mid-life transfers from other Go Ahead companies or from the existing East Yorkshire fleet.

Looking at the fleetlist I am struggling to put 16 vehicles together for refurb in the current fleet as the vehicles types EYMS have are of various ages.

So in the current fleet i'd go with the Enviro 200's 502/3/4 and Enviro 400's 778/779 and 901 to 910 making the 16 otherwise i'd go with something cascaded from elsewhere in the Go-Ahead Group.

5369-76 and 8339-46 from GNE perhaps, given that electric buses are said to be coming to Saltwell Park 53/54.

What would go on the Drifter?

Was it confirmed the electric buses are going on the Saltwell Park?

Thing is they need to be looking towards withdrawing the Plaxton Presidents new between 2000/2003 and the Volvo B7RLE's new in 2005.

The new deckers and some refurbished ones from elsewhere along with a few depot transfers would see the Presidents off.

Other buses in the repainting process are B7TL 700 and B9TLs 717 and 734. B8RLE 387 was reported as being in the body shop on 14th March, though there has been no further developments here.

782 is the first of the refurbished buses for Scarborough, having being spotted at Bus & Coach World. Would expect these to be allocated across services 12/13 and 128 - the only 'regular' double deck routes to operate out of Scarborough.

Indeed, promotional material has made its way out for services 12 and 13, which will gain the 'Coaster' brand name.

Both Enviro200MMCs appear to be fully assembled and should be delivered in the next few weeks. 515 (YX19 OVS) will be allocated to Bridlington, and 396 (YX19 OVT) to Pocklington.

Acting as a messenger, it has been rumoured elsewhere that some Geminis are to be converted to open-tops to replace the Presidents currently used on the seafront service in Scarborough.

They'll also be the first buses in East Yorkshire's fleet to be fitted with 'next stop' audio-visual announcements.
