If it is then surely a Fleet News based Mod would work.

What I mean is there is no connection between being a forum mod, admin or otherwise, and having access to update the fleet lists and news. It's two separate systems.

The forum runs on MyBB, which is open source software. The fleet lists and news are completely bespoke, and are designed/developed by Liam.

Ah, that makes sense.

Plus the fleet news are written out with the same wording. It would look unprofessional if someone worded entries a different way to what the other person does.

Is the news going to be updated with the arrival of the new solos?

Work is underway to produce a new-look news section - check out this screenshot for a sneak-peak!

A new operator filter will be introduced so that viewers can read about news specific to one operator, and a new 'throwback' feature will be introduced, providing a blast to the past.

Something that has been missed out on the fleet archive for 5283:

In April 2011 (under the update for 18th April in the GNE archive document), as a result of 6001-6007 entering service, the vehicle was transferred to Stanley for trials on Diamond services 43/44. It was there until it was recorded in the 6th June update as having transferred to Deptford.

Some of you have indicated in the past that you would prefer today's news to show 'TODAY' rather than '12 hours ago' (back to midnight that day).

This was in the process of being coded at the time you saw the random date shown in your screenshot.

5289 doesn't have the logo's for the WIFI/USB/Announcements

Dan, when you've updated the news, 5286, 5287 and 5288 are down as "Unallocated" also some of them are down as not having WIFI/USB ports.

5286 and 5288 have only just returned to service this week, so they were technically right!

All returned to service now though - so updated accordingly.
