Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2014

RE: Go North East - Latest
(26 Jul 2014, 5:40 pm)Dan wrote The 9 has no set number of passenger numbers, and that's probably down to the fact Percy Main's runs turn up whenever they like.
If one of them is 10 minutes late, the one behind it carries air.

I had to stand on the dual door B10 today (with quite a few others), and had to do so the other evening too. That said, on the opposite side of the road, there was a Solo SR which was pretty much empty...

The 29 has been performing quite well on the North Sunderland side. Never use it on the Doxford Park section, so I don't know about that one.

It must be doing alright on the Doxford Park section or it would of being changed by now.

Anyone know when 5210 will get branded?
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

Oh dear me.
Let's just hope the shuttles keep moving and don't stop there for too long.

Probably sit there for 10 to 15 Minutes, Possibly Longer, Personally I would prefer to go to Parkhead/Celtic Park or Whatever you like to call it.

Foot down all the way from Gateshead, with nobody getting on and off?
If you put your foot down past the Greyhound Stadium, you can easily gain two minutes if you're running late.

Unacceptable though, and it'll be interesting to see what CS says - and how long it takes! Of course, I was a travelling passenger from East Boldon to Monkwearmouth... Rolleyes

Same here.

Took the wrong turn at the top of a slip road off the motorway up there and ended up around Ibrox.
The doors were double locked, followed by a quick handbrake turn and back in the right direction.

Been through the area on the train, but that was going quite quick Wink

As I forgot to ask, whereabouts were the Park and Ride 1/2 and 3 picking up from before heading to Seaburn, as depending on Allocations I may pop over again Tomorrow to get some more Photos.

Weak as water the lot of ya. Tongue

I've actually walked around Govan (got rare photos of the SPT Subway above ground) and I've walked from Govan Subway station to Ibrox Station on street level.

And I've also played in a charity football match in a community centre that was next to Ibrox in Novemeber 2008 where we ended up drinking in Glasgow that same night.

I've been around some really dodgy areas in the UK, and as long as you keep yourself to yourself, you shouldn't really suffer any problems.

On this note, it is absolutely no surprise that GNE's P&R services are all absolutely heaving, when the price to park at the airshow is £15 compared to the few quid it costs to use the bus.

Volvo B9 6092 appears to have spent the night at Washington - presumably a breakdown last night?

Wouldn't have thought so... I saw it out in service yesterday.

Could be wrong though!

Would Deptford want their allocations slip by putting a branded vehicle on the Airshow buses? 5327 i would class as been different considering there is always a spare Citaro anyway.

That bus was being driven by a supervisor, who usually would be giving the public guidance during an event such as the airshow.

A "Silver Arrows" branded vehicle was allocated last year too, for some reason...

The chances are most of it will probably be the same, minus the olympians as a few more low floor deckers will be free with it being Sunday. No idea on fleet numbers though.

Yes, they should do.
I believe that was the plan for last Boxing Day if they could have managed to get them out in service on-time, but they couldn't get them out soon enough.

Thanks, thought it would of being.

I also noticed last night that GNE still had their 1 of their solo SRs out on the 135/136.

Seems they have kept them
