Go North East - Second-hand vehicle acquisitions

RE: Go North East - Secondhand Deckers 2022
Most bus stations in the North East would have issues with Dual Door buses.

Only ones that can completely used easily by Dual Door Buses are Gateshead, MetroCentre, Washington Galleries, Hexham, Killingworth, Blyth, Ferryhill, Four Lane Ends and Regent Centre.

All the others are either Drive On Reverse Off or have badly positioned street furniture / shelters blocking the second doors.

At South Shields and stands A-G at Park Lane, the centre door would just empty onto the road (assuming another bus isn't blocking it).

Bishop could probably use dual door buses with no 'problem', it's not as if drivers ever actually line the door up with the opening anyway so you either have to squeeze through the gap, or walk around!

And where the 56 parks.

Seems GNE have either bought / loaned some ex L&G Coaches President’s

They're running 9 of them.

Oh dear - this one has backfired on you!

The E400s are planned to stay and will replace 6901-19.

Assuming 282-291 won't be up here for awhile since they're still in active service in London on the 321.

Not too sure, I was reading the GoAhead London bus forum before and it seems like they don't have a clue either, just a lot of speculation.

Unlikely. Bus Times recent changes suggest that neither 6198 nor 6204 are actually here yet, yet more "tracking errors" apparently.

I know we won't be getting any more London deckers after these for a while but does anyone think that we would ever get any of the new Routemasters from London?

Doubt it, the back stair case would just be a total waste of space and have no purpose when there's hundreds of other buses to choose from. Not to mention the ramp is in the middle door so would be expensive to convert. They'll go straight to scrap mostly imo.

They’re going through a refurbishment programme at the moment. Seats all being re-trimmed in a newer moquette and the exteriors repainted.

202-210 in L&G Coaches fleet.

Go North East has sub-contracted 8x Nexus Miscellaneous Works contracts to L&G after they lost all their contracts.

These contracts run with L&G Coaches’ buses and drivers.

Today, Go North East sub-contracted a shuttle bus in operation between Durham University and Redcar Racecourse to L&G Coaches using five of their buses.

Other sub-contractors ran from Saltmeadows today on the same event.

I think part of the reason why they're owned by TFL was because of their limited second life.  Not much call for a 2 staircase, 3 door bus outside of London; and leasing were reluctant to expose themselves to the risk of getting stung.
