Will this get the non-enthusiasts talking buses too?

God help the poor buggers who have to use it.
“This is the Sunderland District Violet 2A(?) service to Sunderland”.

We seemed to have moved into a good place with no nonsensical branding.

Enter violet…

Has Martijn got a colour fetish from his reading days or are we borrowing Uno’s branding.
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

I do think it's fitting that the Violet brand was put on the Citaros given that Hyacinth's sister owns a Mercedes, granted the Citaros are far from new!

You joke. That’s probably the theory behind it.

Sad

You know what, if that is the reason then I applaud whoever made the decision for having impeccable taste!

Having said that, if the puns on the back aren't Keeping Up Appearances related, I shall be very disappointed!

So after berries, cherry, violet…they ran out of things to describe colours and just started to put actual colour names and an image of something rarely that colour (silver badger, blue bird… actually Sunderland District bluebird with a blue bird on it might have actually made some degree of sense compared to this).  Good to see the extra two brands added though which appear from the route map to be for 33 & 38.  So Sunderland and Distrcit covers everything in Sunderland except X-lines X20 and Prince Bishops and Country Ranger and Cityrider, oh and Drifer (yet almost identical route 61 IS part of SD brand), not forgetting corporate liveried 9 (or yet to be revealed yellow brand?) and Peterlee branded X6 and 62 ...  Remind me the point of the SD brand family again?

It actually looks like a fox, I do hope we see a brand for the 5 and 9 though, even if its not called "Sunderland District ****"

Looks like Deptford are losing quite a few Streetlites - as it looks like the 5 and 9 will be Streetlites.

Wonder if the 62/62A will be Solo?

Hopefully not, it'll then be the odd one out... it could be branded, even if its not "Sunderland District".

How come Gateshead can use all different colours of paint for the rear half of the bus , but Sunderland gets stuck with the red rear on the bus, I thought different areas will have there own colour at rear , looks like it’s just Sunderland area?

Does that mean the Drifter & Prince Bishops will get a red rear. As I don't think it would suit it at all. As I do believe both are being repainted as the 60 is advertised on X6 Timetable as Sunderland District Drifter 60 & Prince Bishops have a new logo type.

RE: Go North East - Recent Repaints
I have noticed with several of the recent repaints, Cherry/Berries/Violet that at the front where it says the name e.g. Sunderland District Berries behind that should be the colour of the rear. If you don't understand what I am saying look @ a Connections 4, and then look at a voilet.

Consistency in detail is not a strong point, but maybe that’s due to not using a single design agency.

Seems any sense of consistency has gone out of the window now. X22 and TVT10 has proved that.. Seems only X lines and the secondary expresses have a rear of identity now.
RE: Go North East - Recent Repaints
Does it really make any difference thou - the consistency is that most vehicles have the road stripe surely?

When Peter Huntley was here, all the branded vehicles had a white curve on them from the front wheel arch - this is no different.
