Will be interesting to see what happens if the EV bids are successful (see https://northeastbuses.co.uk/forum/showt...p?tid=3506).
That will potentially release a significant number of StreetDecks & Volvo B9TLs

The one down Saltmeadows is 5499. Apparently it has been retrimmed but has never seen service and, as you've noted, just seems to be sitting down there.

But the 65 is getting its own branidng, but also 62 is very busy. So it might make sense painting 3-4 versas in the Peterlee Purples

I’m sure I read somewhere that the 62 allocation will be bigger than the solo, but can’t remember where I saw that

RE: Fleet Changes
Figured this would be the appropriate place to put this, the X66 Eclipses are supposedly now in service tracking on Bustimes.org.
RE: Fleet Changes
Despite the recent reshuffle of vehicles, I wonder whether many other reallocations/cascades will result from these route changes. I also wonder what the nett effect on the total pvr will be.
RE: Fleet Changes
So on my little jaunt to the cinema this afternoon, I got to try out the B7s on the X66 and I must say they are a marked improvement over the Streetlites.
While I don't find the seats as comfortable as the Civic V2(?)s, the legroom seems to be far better meaning I can actually sit straight!
The ride quality is also far better, as is the sound.

After that I'd have to say the seats on the 67 plate StreetDecks/B5s, closely tied with the seats on the new StreetDecks, with my preference being for the 67 plates because I prefer leather.
Then I'd say the rest of the V3s are equal, be it dark blue e-leather or the blue 'go' moquette, with the V2s being worse because of the low back.
Next would be the seats on the X66 B7s, and the other vehicles that use a similar seat.
Then there's the seats on the E200/E400s, I personally find them so uncomfortable, there's too much padding and no support.

Being wipe clean is handy though!

RE: Fleet Changes
Do we know what's happening with the 19. Are they going back to solos or staying as Scania CN230UB OmniCity.
Percy Main are in need of at least 5 or 6 more solos. As the 41 lately seems to be having a Scania Single or Decker allocated to it.
If longer buses are no longer needed for the 19 that would require 4 solos for that plus 2 extra for the 41. But where from

Percy Main currently has 17 Solo's for a PVR of 14 across the 11 (4), 41 (4), 42/42A (5) and H1 (1). If you factor in the 19 (and H1 withdrawal) that's another 4 which is 17 exactly. I don't think 5 or 6 spares are required, 2 or 3 at most. According to BusTimes the 41 had all solo's operating every day this week apart from today so doesn't look to be a regular occurrence. With the Venture network being massively reduced there'll be Solo's spare there.

Now its like 4 routes it has become a disapointing brand really.

And during the relaunch they should have had there interiors re-done aswell.
RE: Fleet Changes
I was thinking about the post in the New(er) Open Tops thread about the replacement Presidents being reengined to meet euro6 standards for the CAZ.
After being in the city today I couldn’t help notice how many crappy omnideckers were out covering and the seemingly lack of decent spares.
Will the omnideckers get mechanical upgrades to meet CAZ requirements or are they being shipped out in time? (I’m hoping for the latter).

Did hear they were going to be replaced as soon as possiable so doubt it. This has been getting said for the last 2 years though and its not happened yet. There are too many other problems with them to spend a lot of money on them.
