I rode this earlier and I clearly forgot what total sheds they are, one of the mankiest looking buses I have ever been on.

N703LTN which was on the 1720 45 from Boro was a much nicer bus.

VAG606R making an unusual appearance on the 55 yesterday. R556LGH had been on earlier but had to be replaced to do a school run with low bridges.

Yesterday 606R was on the 88 and 608R the 45.

New in is Leyland Tiger/Plaxton Paramount 3200 LUI7646 ex-TM Travel Durham. Now fleet number 6, its future isn't set yet as it was originally bought for spares but is apparently is in a decent condition to be used

I have been on an outing today where I sampled parts of the 45, 55, 84 and 271 routes and I was quite pleased with the service I received on all their buses I boarded today. All the drivers I had today were really friendly and the buses used today were good too

Sort of figured there was an enthusiast on my 45, tried to give it some thrash!

Not very often I have to say anything bad about a driver, the only real complaint I have ever made was about an Arriva Darlington driver a few years back on service 8A from Darlington who shouted really loudly at me because I got on before he was ready (I thought he was) then when I wanted to get off the bus at Newton Aycliffe Tesco he drove past the stop then stopped just before the roundabout and very angrily stated that he didn't stop at Tesco (he was supposed to) so I said that he did but he was having non of it then opened the doors and apologies to Scarlet Band for caking one of your lovely 55 reg Solos in mud thanks to this... person.

RI'm very quick to slag other drivers off........

All bus drivers should be friendly and helpful!

Sadly, it sounds like it's outside factors as to why the 45/55/271 have been cut. The 84 might have been going the same way however it's actually making a significant amount of money per day compared to the other services.

Always the same for independent companies, any idea if other companies will take over the routes or merge them in with their own routes, not from area so not really sure if other companies run the routes?

Judging from my observations the other day the 55 didn't pick up that many passengers, the 271 had me and one other passenger between Saltburn and Guisborough and I think one or two boarded here so I am not surprised to see these go based on my sightings on Saturday. The 45 I am a little surprised about as it carried okay numbers but not an extordinary amount when I have used this service. Have seen the 84 have a good few passengers on when I have seen it in Stockton and when I went for a short ride upto North Tees Hospital.

It is a shame to see these services go but sadly this is just one of those things that happen.

Only noticed it at speed the other day - but there was what looked like an old school Volvo/Plaxton coach at the Stagecarriage depot.

Anyone have more info on it?
Was parked in a way, that the back end was facing the A66, so didn't get a proper look.

Edit. Found in fleet lists. Not a bad guess! Leyland/Plaxton. Rather than Volvo/Plaxton!
