Far too quick to be quoting my posts on a Sunday morning! I'm sure each of my posts usually gets edited about three times within the first few minutes of posting it. Tongue

(17 May 2015, 9:29 am)Sidthebusbabe wrote Yes, I saw a couple of B10's on the 47 before a B9 made an appearence.

That should be the last time you'll see a Volvo B10BLE on the 47 on a Sunday!

Although the main Monday - Saturday operation of service "Red Kite" service 47 is now standalone and no longer interworks with "Toon Link" services 11/31/32 as it did in the past when a part of the "Toon Link" brand, the Sunday operation of "Red Kite" service 47 still interworks with "Toon Link" services 11/31/32. The PVR of 6 is an even split of three "Red Kite" branded Volvo B9TLs and three "Toon Link" branded Scania OmniCitys (when they are repainted, branded and enter service).

I personally would have preferred to see all four Volvo B9TLs used in addition to a red Volvo B7TL/Wright Gemini and 6084, to reduce the amount of customer confusion. However, I'd assume that the logic in keeping one Volvo B9TL off the road is so it can be serviced on the Sunday, reducing the likelihood of a red spare having to be used during the week.

Yes, they are for the Next Stop system rather than the TFT monitors.  They are similar to what TFL use in London.

Any idea when they'll be turned on for the C&C?

With the B9's entering service, does that mean Riversides Olympian's have being withdrawn or have they moved back to Stanley?

No movements have yet occurred. When they do, I will post them.

I would suggest that it's unlikely that the entry into service of the four new Volvo B9TLs would allow for four Volvo Olympians to be withdrawn. Remember, service 47 was previously allocated the Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse vehicles. As such, these were the vehicles released for cascade to another service.

There's been no confirmation on a date for which they are due to enter service just yet, but there is still a fair amount of work to be done on them.

In addition to those noted on this news article, these vehicles have now been repainted into Go North East's corporate livery:
- 6127 (GX03 SVA)
- 6130 (GX03 SVE)
- 6131 (YN04 GJE)

6133 (YN04 GJG) is currently being prepared for repaint, with this vehicle additionally having its seats re-trimmed into Go North East's standard blue seating moquette.

Ah yes, forgot they were allocated single deckers haha

Will the Eclipses be allocated to just one route or will they be used on any services which need them?

Pretty soon, but we are just waiting for the audio coming from a radio station, then of course we have to put the audio together with the text, then go and test it.

The first ten to arrive have all been confirmed on Go North East's fleet list as being allocated to Stanley Depot. It is thought that they are due to replace the Dennis Trident/East Lancs Lolyne vehicles.

I would imagine that, because Go North East has confirmed on the public domain that they have ordered these 14 vehicles, they are now being manufactured.

I reckon they could be for the Coaster!
Could definitely do with deckers at peak times.

Was my genuine answer to the question - wasn't intended as sarcasm at all! Takes 2 - 3 months to build a bus, so when they arrive all depends on when they placed the order and how much work the manufacturer of the bus has to do prior to building them...

It bloody better be! Tongue

I reckon the 14 new buses will be for Crusader.

The Eclipses will move to the 57 - allowing the FAB 57 B10's to be withdrawn.

Do you not think if the Crusader receives investment, the Citaros could go on the 57?

I think the Eclipses will be for the 67/69.

I'll stick to what i said before:

5 to Hexham (1 spare)
5 to Waggonway

Rest of them around the depots for spares... Tongue

Or

11 to Highwayman
2 will move to a spare role.

Edit:

8 to Loop
5 to Fab 57

Scania's replace the B10's
FAB 57 B10's withdrawn.

Or, they could even use Paddy Mcguiness (part of the Bauer Radio network)

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2015
On another note, I think that the 14 new vehicles could be for the following:

- 13 + 1 spare for the Crusader (don't know the type but probably deckers).
- 12 + 2 spare deckers for Citylink with the Versas going on the Crusader.
- 14 new deckers for the Red Arrows with 2 Gemini's remaining as spares (1 of them does additional workings) owing to their provision of free Wi-Fi and NSA's.

I don't think it will be the Coaster because if it was, then they'd order either 1 or 2 spare vehicles on top.

Based on the law of averages, probability and inevitably, one day you could hit on and be right about those X1 deckers! :p
