I'm not sure - it's only a loan so it all depends on how long Hexham's own vehicles are off the road.

On a related note, Go North East's Fleet News has been updated. The movements are as follows and those shown in red are the ones previously un-noted on this forum:
5410 - 5419 new vehicles in service at Stanley
6118 - 6121 new vehicles in service at Riverside
4900 4901 4903 Stanley to Riverside
8261 8263 8265 Riverside to Washington
4846 5144 5147 5149 8242 withdrawn from Riverside
8244 withdrawn from Hexham
543 withdrawn from Deptford
5402 Stanley to Chester le Street
4847 withdrawn from Stanley
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2015
Seems GNE had problems on the number 9 this morning.

I am sorry about that. I have checked and it looks as though we have had issues with 2 of the vehicles and then passenger loads on another.

Any idea which buses?
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

This is actually my pet hate. How can you criticise someone's driving when you are yet to even be the age to learn to drive? She's got to be pretty good of she's managed to get both parts of her licenses they don't just  give them away! I'm going to say it was probably mechanical

Also, the final "Toon Link" Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse due for repaint, 4980 (NK54 NUM), has now arrived at Saltmeadows.

4979 is also present I believe.  I'm led to believe that this along with the coaches are all to receive seat belts for recently awarded scholars contracts in Hexham (won from Howard Snaith)

5229 is present at Riverside, apparently a swap for 4979.

I thought 4978-4981 were going on service 5 as Dan (I think) sated not so on back?

He did but this doesnt eliminate the possibility of 5229 taking 4979s role. If 4979 is there and for the reason stated, i dont know why 5229 wasnt chosen instead. It would keep the 5s allocation the same vehicle.

That's what I was thinking, I think if it's for scholar services, why can't They use a spare double decker e.g 6011

Plans can and do change.

I believe both 4979 and 5229 are to receive seatbelt modifications, with the former already at Thorntons for said modifications.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2015
Service 4 is allover the place today, stood at The Galleries from 13:40 till 14:05 waiting for the 13:44 - 4 to Concord, nothing turned up so I instead got on the 50, I then waited around until 15:00 before getting the 50 back over to The Galleries and made a few observations, I am guessing I might of missed the 13:34, I got into Concord at around 14:15 with a Full Load plus a few standees when departing The Galleries.

The first Heworth bound 4 at Concord arrived at 14:24 with another right behind it at the same time, this would of meant there was no Service 4 from The Galleries for around 30-35 Minutes towards Heworth, after those two departed there was nothing for 10 Minutes until the next one arrived at 14:34, with another following suit at 14:39, then there was nothing for 15 Minutes until another 4 arrived at 14:54, this was followed by another at 14:58, I then of course boarded the 50 in which I didnt see a single 4 between Concord and The Galleries, which would of meant another 10+ Minutes gap in Service.

For scholars services, I'm sure there are contractual requirements. Sometimes it specifies a double deck vehicle, sometimes a single deck, etc., and perhaps this contract has certain needs, also, there is the possibility that the service runs under a low bridge and so a double decker cannot be used. I know the 889 (a scholars service) runs under Pelton Bridge, meaning a single decker must be allocated.

There have been problems galore at Bournmoor / Shiney Row today with roadworks and temporary traffic lights - this is also the reason why aureolin spotted a 78 running rather late indeed (which I believe made up 15 minutes upon return to Stanley towards Sunderland?)

There are temporary lights on Winters Bank.
Not aware of any others.

Sedgeletch Road is closed still I think. Traffic should be lower than during term times, especially on Biddick Lane Wink

Sharp to change your mind then, like..!

Perhaps if Andy Clifford was still around in his helicopter providing updates on road closures, diversions and traffic congestion, you wouldn't have had to edit your post to confirm that there are indeed road closures and temporary traffic lights in place en-route... Wink

FYI - the vehicles that are presently delayed are all at the Bournmoor section of the route. Most buses are making up time to be within the '6 minute on-time window' once they're past Washington heading to Heworth.

Changing the subject. When are the deckers from Brighton due to hit the roads. Are they all for Stanley depot?

It's probably to stop Stanley trying to fix every problem by shoving an Olympian into service. Smile

Probably what will happen. I imagine they will be allocated to service work though.

One can only hope so given the Presidents I've had on the 15/15A recently are some of the worst I have ever been on.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2015
Are there any more arrivals of second hand deckers expected from Brighton or elsewhere. Yeh surely too much money spent painting them etc... to be parked up in Stanley and Consett bus stations

Service X25 is operated by Chester-le-Street, not Stanley, where 3861 is based.
