Aye i heard that too. Don't even know what is so significant about that particular vehicle other than it is really old.

Updated, thanks!

I reckon they will give Shildon a miss but i would put my money on them attending the Seaburn rally. Would be nice if they finished the work on B10 STX and start taking that along to rallies as it certainly won't be seeing use on a private hire or scholars again.
RE: Stanley Travel
I heard today that they won't be attending the next one due to the Great North Bike Ride. However just checked the dates of both and there on different days.

Oh how I'm not looking forward to that bus journey first thing on the Sunday morning again this year!

R2 STX is to be used on the R5. JYV's arrival was discussed in this thread a couple of weeks back too.
There are talks of Stanley Travel attending the Shildon rally in August.
RE: Stanley Travel
TX63 STX will be back in the fleet in the next 4 to 6 weeks following major works after it was hit by a wagon on the A1 earlier in the year.

A brand new slimline Solo was delivered to Gardiners to have the red skirt added, and will enter the fleet for the R5's.
It was delivered with the registration number R2 STX already on it.

Nice but also surprising to head. From what i heard it was a nasty accident sounded like it would not be repaired.

As noted on the Stanley Travel twitter page and later noted on here.

Anyway, in other news, P2 STX has been withdrawn from the fleet. Currently sitting next to the garage like it has been for weeks.

I have not heard any plans for them yet. I imagine E2 STX (E200) will be kept for NDA scholars work but OO05 STX doesnt really have any use as it will not operate the R5. Might pass to GCT i dont know.

Wasn't too keen on the much bolder red line along the top at first but when i actually had the chance to stop and look (was on a moving bus when i took that photo), it looks really nice.

Expect to see that on there all of the time. What it was purchased for Smile

Might creep onto the Cathedral Bus at times though.

Also who does the R4?

R3 and R4 are operated by Gateshead Central Taxis. Checked the Nexus website and i can't find an R5 timetable either.

Cheers, that looks pretty much the same as the one I saw earlier but I forgot to check how late it runs as I am thinking of getting a photo after I've got Quaylink photos in Newcastle.

Yep. It does go into the car park at Gibside. I think i found the link to that timetable but when i clicked on it, the page was dead.
