Tyne and Wear Metro
There are no trains running between Benton and Tynemouth in both directions, this is due to vandalism. We will update you once we have more information.

Ouch indeed!
I've noticed recently that Metro Control no longer merely announce over the tanoy that there are delays, but also when they're running "a good service" too.
Few other things:
4034(?) had some problems with its doors this afternoon. The "out of order" signs were placed on the doors but these were useless at peak times to those already on the train, as passengers still tried to press the buttons time and time again before running to the next set of doors at last minute!
The Metro I was on this morning had the old female voice announcements from Stadium of Light for a few stations, but then stopped working completely. The Metro I was on this evening had the new voice (which worked fine), but the screens were completely out of sync showing stations we'd already passed or weren't working at all.

I'm going to write something to Nexus about it. I'm concerned how they've managed to hold enough performance data to fine them that sum of money, yet when I asked for a copy of it under FOI, they apparently didn't hold any more information than published on the posters!

Are those posters even published any more? Haven't seen them in ages!
Worth mentioning that the Gateshead - Brockley Whins/Jarrow Metro suspension this Sunday has been cancelled.

I don't use the system much these days, but there was certainly one at Heworth or Haymarket when I used it for the Whitley Bay rally.

RE: Tyne and Wear Metro
There are no trains running between Heworth and Jarrow in both directions until further notice. This is due to a technical fault.
We are currently operating a bus replacement service, the number 900, calling at or near to all stations between Heworth and Jarrow.
We will update you once we have more information.

Certainly isn't working today (although no word on Twitter yet!)
Power outage in East Boldon area apparently resulted in all signals going on red to show danger. Our driver went straight through the signal and the Metro came to an immediate halt after one full carriage and part of the back carriage went past the signal. Whiplash claim?
Been stuck just before East Boldon for 20 minutes. Not what you need when you don't feel too well to begin with!

I was stuck between Seaburn and East Boldon for 30 minutes, although the driver went slow all the way to Pelaw, meaning that I was on the Metro for an hour opposed to 20-odd minutes.
You understand I was not best pleased...

Should have came in on time then you would not have been stuck for an hourÂ

There's no "on-time" - just a "normal time"...
I will be spitting in your cup of tea if you're not careful! I get ratty when I don't feel well, Mr. 5284... You know that better than most on this forum!

The new Next Stop Announcements work really well on the unrefurbished Metrocars.
I'm presently sat on the Emirates liveried one (which is paired to 4002) and the buzzer sound of the doors closing works really well with the voice.
The old buzzer at this time of morning is a breath of fresh air, too. Much easier on the ears.
