Aye, Sheppards (a department store) was eventually demolished and later became the car park at Tescos.

Due to a road closure on Ferry Street, South Shields, from 06:00am to 21:00pm on Saturday 1st August, to allow the installation of a tower crane and works associated with the town centre regeneration scheme, Stagecoach services 12/12A were scheduled to terminate at South Shields Market for the day.

Go North East operated a free shuttle bus service on behalf of Nexus for the duration of this road closure. Numbered 12S, the shuttle stopped at Palatine Street, River Drive, Mile End Road and South Shields Town Centre Bus Stops.

Has anyone noticed a Q3 double announcing since the changes? I'm on a St Peters bound one, and it's done it for every stop between Haymarket and Quayside.

It'll announce the destination really loud, then again quieter with a slight delay, so they talk over each other.

On all Quaylinks, it should say something like Next Stop Guildhall, then at the stop, it should announce the stop name.  It shouldnt be doing that.

The volume on the units are only set the once and we use the same audio files, so the volume should be the same for all speech.

I'll try and video it and drop you a link.

Once it reaches the stop it just announces it once, its just when it is announcing the next stop it would seem.

So that's why the traffic was so bad in the town centre! The bus was carrying nothing but fresh air when I seen it today.

I was the first passenger of the day at 10:15am (and I hardly count given that I was there for a photo and a chat!) Tongue

The recent service changes to the "Quaylink" group of services - which saw the combined PVR of the old "QuayLink", "Great Park & Ride" and "The Orbit" services reduce by one vehicle - has allowed the transfer of Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4966 (NL52 WVX) to Hexham Depot. This vehicle should become a spare vehicle for new service 680 (with "Tynedale Links" branded Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 5210 being the usual allocation), although will no doubt crop up on other services where required too, as in today's case of being allocated to "Tynedalexpress" services X84/X85.

I was on 8333 earlier on the Q1 from Wrekenton to Central Station and it exactly the same, just kept on repeating itself which irritating, adding to the dull unenthusiastic voice of the person doing the NSAs.

I would not say it was a dull unenthusiastic voice.

Your next stop is... Milburngit?

Your next stop is... Leeeezeeeees road.

Your next stop is... Cottages. West.

Your next stop is... Arsey Church.

i much prefer the human radio presenters that GNE use.

See although I like the voiceovers on the Red Kite and Coast & Country, I certainly favour a local accent. As long as that doesn't extend to anyone out of Geordie Shore...
