Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015

They must fear that it wont do as well on the X9/X10 - keeping it on the X21 as long as possible so it will be less likely to break down on the TTX.

There is a date when it will move to the Riverside.  And if it does not breakdown on the TTX  Angel

I remember him mentioning it was due to get withdrawn soon but he wasn't sure when it was...

Its hung on to service for weeks, shame its being withdrawn........

Will it be fully branded or is it just an advert for back of the bus?

Nor the Real Radio ones on the 4.

These will all be updated when things calm down a bit - it's a case of finding the time to get everything done at the moment!

Nor the X1.

It has been said before, but neither of the presenters work for the station and haven't for quite a while now.
My initial thoughts, were that the displays and announcements were maybe to be used for a set period, prior to replacing.

You wouldnt think 9108 has an 8 Litre Engine would you, honestly thought I was on a "Slightly More Powerful Streetlite" with a few less rattles, although saying that the Engine didnt even make that characteristic roar in which you would expect say from a B9TL/B10BLE, personally I would spend the "GNE New Vehicle Fund" on Quality (Citaros) over Quantity (Streetlites), in which case despite the hefty price tag I would purchase Mercedes Citaros for Heavyweight Single Deckers going forward.

Did you have a ride of the Euro 6 Mercedes Citaro when that was here? That also has the Hybrid-like sounding engine, so no "roars" here either.

Think the best "roar" these new buses will see is when citaro5284 shouts at me for breaking a destination or something.  Rolleyes

Trust me that Euro 6 Mercedes Citaro did have a roar just took a little while longer to kick in than the Euro 5 Examples, albeit tamed mind, nevertheless it still had a roar, obviously when you were on board it you had one of the GNE Pensioners driving it at 20mph to keep to timetable so therefore you wouldnt of heard it.
