(08 Sep 2015, 9:02 pm)Dan wrote I don't think you are going by what I said, Michael... I think you're (wrongly) trying to read between the lines - not everything I say is some sort of cryptic clue.

"Impending service revisions at Riverside Depot are set to see "The Highwayman" services 97 and 98 undergoing route alterations, following a recent online and paper-based customer consultation, allowing customers to give their feedback on the company's proposed service changes. The entire batch of "The Highwayman" branded Scania L94UB/Wright Solar vehicles is set to undergo repaint as a result. The first vehicle out of the paintshop is 4932, and it has been repainted into the company's corporate livery."

There's nothing in the above that explicitly states that all of "The Highwayman" buses are going to be repainted into Go North East's corporate livery.

We'll have to see which colour(s) the next Highwaymans go when they're repainted, won't we?

Probables known me haha

But i still think all of them will go red... honestly think the Highwayman will get new/newer buses and a total new brand but this will be after the changes though, when buses are bought - new or 2nd hand....  Wink

If Deptford can work comfortably with the 2x B9 spares for the 56, why don't they swap one with a B7 from Riverside (3963) and put it permanently on the TEN allowing 6084 to act as a dedicated spare rather than a go inbetween vehicle? Would then give the TEN a full PVR of 14 Geminis rather than relying on the internal and external reliability issyes that the TTX faces (breakdowns, VORs, RTAs, congestion). Then Deptford still have 1 B9 that they can allocate and as a last point of call, a B7 equipped with Wi-Fi. I know that they were bought as spares for the 56 but would it not be wiser to share the extra vehicle elsewhere in the network where really needed rather than having it on the Bishops for some of the time.

In short: no - it would not be wiser.

Allocated fleet number 9107, this vehicle's demonstration period with Go North East has been extended and it will indeed see use on National Express work.

Keep an eye out for the Mega-express!

Sorry haha never even clicked on the photo! Are all of Percy Main's services uploaded on that blind? Hopefully it might be trialled on the Coaster too.

Yes - it is just Percy Main's standard LED programme.

Should only be allocated to the Cobalt Clipper, as this will allow for a more accurate average MPG figure on these services to be obtained.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015
And before the speculation starts about it is not going on the TTX as it will breakdown.......it will still be going on there, but heading to Percy Main first.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015
If the MPG of the Streetdeck was to beat the B9's, do you think GNE would dotch the GKN mods for 6101 - 6116 and change the 309 / 310 to Streetdecks?

No. Would be completely stupid and would cost more in repaints etc than the GKN mods themselves.

That seems a much more sensible use for that bus than the X9/X10, though the geminis on it are only a couple of years old, anyhow.

Yes. The 17:08 journey out of Newcastle. 3872 was allocated tonight.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015
I noticed that there were no Go North East supervisors down at my school to manage the buses and answer queries at all today (AM and PM) and it was instead, left down to the staff. The whole point of them coming down is that they can boost the bus batteries or whatever using the power pack they usually have in the van. Luckily, there were no problems regarding vehicles breaking down tonight.

Is it normal/usual for GNE staff to be present whenever school buses arrive/depart?

I've not known it to happen in Washington, as it's usually teacher supervised on a rota. Guess it depends on the size of the school and amount of services they run.

It wasn't normal for St Bedes until the 2013/14 academic year when GNE staff have been present for the last 3 years, most of the time without fail but today there was no sign of GNE staff at all. I have no idea how it works with other schools.

Stanley's St Bedes scholars services are commercially operated rather than secured as per most Tyne & Wear scholars services (I believe some Emmanuel College services are commercially operated too), hence why some of the arrangements are slightly different.

I don't know for sure, but I think there have been quite a few meetings lately so the staff who usually supervise your scholars may have been busy with nobody available to cover.
