Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015
Has the lack of information about Teesside's new vehicles driven you 'Dotty'? Wink Then wonder no more, this will 'connect' up the 'dots'

As my photo shows, 27238-40 (SN65 OBY/Z, OCA) are in plain Stagecoach livery. It's expected that 239/40 will join 238 on the road at some stage in the next week.

However, 27241-54 (SN65 OCB-H/J-M/O/P/R) carry 'Connecting The Dots' branding for the 52/58/59/61 in a slightly modified style to South Shields' 37304-19. These will begin entering service on Monday 14th September with a launch planned for Friday 18th September at the North End of Stockton High Street on the car park opposite Marks and Spencer's between 11am and 2pm.

That hopefully 'Connets the Dots'Wink

Just 6 so far confirmed - 27238-42/51

I think we ran out of Zones. Plus, I think it's a good idea to have a separate brand for these services rather than brand them the same as the 36/37/38. Would just give them the excuse to put a 36/37/38 Zone on a 59/61 for example.

Aye that's true, i'm not keen on the brand at all.

Not really ones that work. I can only think of one more version - Leisure Zone.

I think the 'Dots' allows them just to use the service numbers in the brand rather than using the route details (the Zone examples have no mention of 36/37/38 on them just the core route and the Hartlepool route).

Time Zone?

If one has ran out of zones does that make one 'zoned out'?

Already got 'Time Zone' and 'Zone Out'. Would you want to get on a bus with 'Danger Zone' on the side?

**Like**

I agree, 'connect the dots' might as well be 'clutching at straws'. It's meaningless!

Not sure on 'Danger Zone', but I would have preferred another 'Zone' based branding opposed to 'Connecting the Dots'.

I believe Middlesbrough has its fair share of 'Oriental Porn Zones' already. Using it as branding may invite copyright infringement claims. Big Grin

Connecting the dots isn't that bad a livery, much better than having a 'sapphire' route imo. but window branding, if the branded front windows the elderly would complain!

You think? I really do like the Sapphire livery! Not so keen on MAX but this is primarily due to the awful application of the livery on most of the fleet which have undergone refurb opposed to being delivered brand new to this spec.

Of course, MAX to me is just stupid to me, they both do nothing for me, if it was more rare a livery then maybe. For me, Sapphire buses don't scream class or different, if they had better buses on it then maybe but then I'm just going in to why I hate Streetlites. It's a confusing system, MAX is for express servies yet X3/X4 in Redcar use Sapphire? It'snot thought out well. Anyway -back to Stageocach Big Grin

27238 is out on 58/35 today. I *think* it might be out on 59/61 tonight.

EDIT: 27239 has made its debut - it's on 36/37 until midnight
EDIT2: 27238 is only out until 1755 on 58/35

Anyone know when the 8 and 20 will be returning to its old routes in Sunderland City Centre with the square and road being completed?

Its being a while since the square was fully complete.

Go North East has returned to their normal routes, so I can't quite work out why Stagecoach are still going ahead with the Holmeside diversion. Makes no sense to have buses sitting in all that traffic if it can be avoided - unless a large number of passengers are now using the additional stops on John Street...
