6039 is currently at Saltmeadows for repaint into Go North East's corporate livery.

6008/32 now have front LED destinations.

Cheers for the update.

Bazza, you've posted the fleet news in a thread called "Fleet News", which is merely a suggestion thread, about 10 minutes ago. Michael posted here 50 minutes ago.

If you think copying and pasting is a tut tut, don't do it yourself.

Bazza, why do you think he posts it to annoy you? He is posting it because he is able to. There is no rule saying you can't post it this week because Bazza wants to.

Yeah of course, Michael's main aim is to annoy you - I'm sure he has more important things to worry about than annoying you!

Anyway, great to see more proper B10s coming to Percy Main, hopefully it'll get rid of the crap dual door ones (5154, 5156, 5159 etc.)
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015
Red 5229 on 680 to Bellingham through Hexham Railway station @ 13:11.

Yellow 5210 on x85 from Newcastle arrived Hexham 25 (?) minutes late and withdrawn from service.
14:02 X84 'didn't run' (despite several passengers for Ovingham waiting, and also despite there being a 'spare' Tynedale Express vehicle parked up at the top of the bus station.  Angry
The spare driver who was standing waiting to take over the X85/X84 @ 13:55 'disappeared' . . .

I can understand regulating and withdrawing a bus that was so late that it couldn't catch up (the X84 alternates with the X85), but why not dispatch the 'spare'?  Huh

4910 and 4911 are great, the best ones we have now.

No doubt they'll mostly be on the 9 anyway, with the B7s on the 17 as usual.

You guys are both like dogs with a bone over this.

There is always a competitive element to finding and posting new snippets of news before anyone else gets there. Whoever gets their first is doing it for their own fun and satisfaction, though. It's not really the end of the world if you're not first.

Bazza, I get that the news is important to you and, I feel, understand the reasons why you find it important. You have to understand that your interest is a little obsessive, though and that you might test people's patience somewhat, in your eagerness to see the news posted. The news above was posted to inform all members of this site, though, not to annoy you.

GX03 SVC - stop biting! [stern look] Honestly, it achieves nothing but grief and leaves mods having to tidy up threads.

4910 is the best out of the two nice and comfy I can see the pair of them being on 9 about 4 is needed from Percy Main while 3 from Deptford but also I can see some eg 4916 on 17/17A they need a vehicle like that

Yeah the Northern Omnicities are normally covering for Coaster/Cobalt Connect omnicities that's why I guess.

Should put the B7s on there, but I guess they don't want to risk it after what happened in Percy Main with 3874. Shouldn't really be an issue though if the driver paid attention to the low bridge.

The odd ominicity usually creeps up on 9 I usually have a nice ride on them when I travel to Sunderland I thought the bus that was involved in the accident was 3870 I'm sure somebody said a while back I used to like 3874 during its Deptford days lovely ride the 3 spares 3801, 3873 and 3874 usually they would end up on the morrisons 9 used to enjoy them rides better than the darts in them days lovely and belter views

Aye it might have been 3870, I think you're right.

The 9 is great when it's a double decker, especially through the tunnel. Shame there is no Lolynes left at Percy Main now - apart from 3866/3867, and I think 3859 is still hanging on.

Only thing 9 gets now is presidents and 2 lolynes the DFDS Seaways ones usually happens on a morning before 9:30 then once the school Rush/work rush comes in they throw on single deckers if DFDS ones are on they pull them back to Percy Main til the DFDS Seaways runs are about to begin or they may stay on 9 for the rest of the day has happened more than once

X85 heading towards Hexham was running 20+ minutes late through Corbridge around 3pm, however the X84 heading towards Newcastle appeared soon after - probably on time (had they employed the 'spare' as the X85 bus I saw would have become the X84?).

Apparently there are roadworks on the main road into Newcastle with temporary traffic lights causing significant delays (according to a passenger).

Has anymore of the Cobalt Clipper/FAB 56's went off to get the flywheel fitted?

Can't remember at all.

(15 Sep 2015, 11:41 am)BJ10VUS wrote I don't know about "ridiculous", as you have to consider where they are coming from and where they are going to after. Not all 33 buses per hour are operating solely between Regent Centre and Newcastle. And sending buses via Cowgate Roundabout instead of Gosforth High Street would just add to the 25 buses per hour between Cowgate Roundabout and the city centre.

I was on the X14 at 3:30 ish from Regent Centre to Brunton and it was full, however I was the only person on that sector

Is there any NSAs for the X1A?

No there isn't. Used to often get the 17:25 from Eldon Square when coming home from uni. The screen on the top deck just says either "Red Arrows" or "Service X1A to Picktree". No NSAs though

I can understand that, but when there's a bus pretty much every two or three minutes along that section of road, is it really expected that there would be that many travelling between Regent Centre and Brunton at that time, and on that bus? Maybe it seems excessive, but why divert other routes away from that corridor, as it would just add considerable time to some routes, as well as possibly just adding to congestion on other corridors. I mean, look at Sandyford, Cradlewell and the Coast Road, or Byker to the city centre, for example. Lots of routes, but all serving different places before and after.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015
Because most of the Arriva routes up Great North Road are express services, and going up Great North Road is the quickest and most direct route out of Newcastle, so it makes sense on sending them the more direct route.

I don't think it will allow for dual-door Volvo B10BLEs to be withdrawn from service just yet. The arrival of 4910 (W491 SCU) and 4914 (X914 WGR) at Percy Main has allowed 4911 (W411 SCU) and 4915 (X915 WGR) to go to Thorntons for DDA modifications, while Riverside's 4897 (V987 ETN) arrived last week too.

Also - I think 5298 - 5309 are all now branded as "See it, Do it, Sunderland".

5304 is yet to receive vinyls; saw it on my walk to school today, heading to Town End Farm but displaying Chester-le-Street.
