(30 Sep 2015, 4:00 pm)DaveyBowyer wrote Ok then, if GNE were to purchase 8 Streetlites, they could do this to rattle the 100 between the Toon and Metrocentre in retaliation for Stagey extending the 22 to Cobalt:

- 10 remains the same, PVR remains the same (6 B9TLs).
- 10a increased to every 15 minutes (30 evenings, still 30 on Sundays) but changed to single decks.
- 10b remains the same, PVR would remain the same (4 B9TLs).

This would then form a 7/8 minute frequency between Crawcrook and Newcastle allowing the TEN to rattle the 100. Don't know how the evening boards would work out though but that is one way which GNE could get one back on Stagecoach.

To be fair there is already more than enough buses between Newcastle and Metrocentre.

They should just extend the £3.90 day ticket to Metrocentre, should help to combat competition.

Omnidekka 6126 was reportedly involved in an incident with a skip lorry at the Team Valley while operating service X31. Smashed windscreen seems to be the most evident damage.

Pointless me making this post but as expected, 5250 has indeed been repainted black for the Toon Link PVR increase.

Robert not noticing that the fleet lists are being kept up to date - it's been down as black for a few days now..!  Tongue

Oh dear haha! To be honest, I never
use the NEB fleet lists that often so wouldn't have seen it. Plus i'm on tapatalk when i made that post so... Tongue

I have, however, had it marked as being in black for ages on my personal fleet list but i just wanted to see it out and about just so i knew it was definitely in black.

At least i was right about my post being pointless though Smile

Well don't have a need to go to Stanley, when I have tried three times (twice on X30/X31 and once on the X70) either got a lolyne, omnicity or president)
If they go to Crook temporarily for the X21 I will use it
Went on it at NEPBT in May Tongue

Always makes me laugh when this one comes up. The vast majority of service 100 users already have a Stagecoach pass or a dayticket who would not use a Go North East service even if they ran every 10 seconds!!

The easiest way to catch one, at the moment, without having to travel far is to hang around at the Metrocentre for a bus to Newcastle while the 43/44/44a are still on the go. They occasionally appear on there.

Quite.

And if I'm in Newcastle and want to get to the Metrocentre (if I'm in Newcastle, I generally have an Explorer ticket, anyhow, so can catch most buses) it's quicker to get whatever's leaving Eldon Square (usually GNE) than to trundle around Newcastle on the 100 picking up more and more passengers before finally heading off in the right direction.

Even before so many GNE services went directly to the MC, I had a network travel ticket, so hopped on the metro then the X66.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2015
Except it won't rattle the 100.

Go North East already run more buses per hour between Metrocentre and Newcastle than the 100.

Go North East won't win any more passengers off the 100, because the vast majority of passengers that use the service have Stagecoach day / weekly / monthly tickets having travelled into Newcastle on other Stagecoach services from places like Killingworth, Byker, Walker, Heaton etc. And places in the West End that isn't covered by the 6 or 7.
