Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes

Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes

RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes
I think Bazza potentially is onto something, if there's spare Citaro's, they could go on the 57 as it's the only branded service still using B10s.
They'll need replacing sooner rather than later I should think.

Do you even use these routes on a non-leisure basis?

The 19 needs something other than OmniCities, as the 4 branded ones are constantly off road, resulting in red/Northern OmniCities/DD Renowns being allocated.

Couple of other services with 5 PVR:

28/28A
34/34A
X25
I hope we get them on the 28/28A. I can't see it happening though.

Could include the 2 spares at Stanley... we don't know if they'll be repainted yet.

Citaros or other vehicles are always replacing renowns (branded ones at least somewhere) example

43/44 had Diamonds originally they got Citaros
27 had Renowns they got Citaros
57 might be a possibility?
Ominicity replaced what is now on 11/31/32
47 got replaced by deckers
8/8A/78/78A got streetlites

don't know if I have missed a post, but what citarios are we talking about?, as there still the silver citarios not been branded yet that are usually on service 61 when the red scanias and red deckers are not on there, it seems the the silver mercs are in limbo at present with no branding.

Stanley's 5293-7 - given Dan confirmed on his photo of 5290 last night that only 5284-92 would be used on the 16/16A.
RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes
Total stab in the dark :-

5293-97 to Riverside for NEW 12/12A.
2 Toonlink Omnicity to Stanley for X30/X31.
7 Toonlink Omnicity stay at Riverside for revised 11/96.

Any idea on what you would brand the 12/12A?

5293 is now signal blue.

Ah right, thought it might have been Blaydon Racers.

Maybe they won't be going on there then.

Maybe, but it would be daft to have 2 different colours for the brand, although it would be easier for the passengers to notice the difference between the services within the brand.

Citaro's to the 57 - confirmed? Wink

It was leaked on to Flickr from someone who knows a driver or something like that, the picture looked genuine and was up on a board.. i think this was at Saltmeadows, this will be the new brand for the 6/X70/X71 (think someone said they are interworking?).... not confirmed if its allocated B9's... this might of being used instead of something else.... i think the services will be allocated Omnidekka's for the time being.

They were posted on Flickr but they have being removed although they haven't being removed from the forum yet.

6 WILL interwork with X70/X71, service to be operated by ommidekkas NOT B9s

RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes
Will 5201/5202 be branded for the DU2 to Urshaw College, or will they remain as they are in Corporate Livery?

As for the Toon Link Scania Omnicities, I never thought it was worth branding the 31/32 anyway as the Services carry nothing but fresh air during the day, so moving them back to Stanley for the revised X30/X31/X32 is good move I think, about time these Services had a decent brand again.

I think the remaining Diamond Citaros will end up on the 57 as others have suggested, saying that I still think the 57 should fall under the CityLink brand alongside the 58 mind.

The new V7/V8 I can honestly say will require a Vehicle bigger than an Optare Solo SR, used the X43 a few times from MetroCentre to Stanley and it has been quite full when a full sized single decker has been used, ohh and how often has a Double Decker appeared on the X43, almost a daily allocation isnt it, correct me if I am wrong, I think a few Solos will be going elsewhere possibly.

I can't help but agree with this. I have never been on it when the normal Streetlite has been allocated but on bank holidays, it gets packed. Maybe the increased frequency will help combat loadings and it won't get as busy but I still think that peak times and bank holidays will be an issue.

I thought Citaro's at first but now 5293 has gone signal blue, i'm not sure.... unless they giving the V7/V8 a new brand brand but then Venture number system would be pointless.... not disagreeing at all though that they'll need bigger buses.... Scania L94's in Venture yellow?....

Yeah, it passed me at Swalwell Roundabout coming from Blaydon. It had about 5/6 members of staff on-board - plus driver.

Perhaps this is an indication that the V7/V8 are going to interwork with the 90. Can't think of any other reason why Blaydon would be included in any route learning duties.
RE: Go North East: Upcoming Service Changes
Yep driver training, stanley are doing some gateshead routes, not 100% sure how many runs maybe a few early or additional peak time runs.

Network Rail are going to replace the bridge over the railway that is on Chowdene Bank between Sainsbury’s and the Gold Medal. The road is expected to be closed to all vehicles from around 26th October, probably until late February.
A pedestrian bridge will be installed so that people can use Chowdene bank to walk to and from the Team Valley, but all vehicles will need to use other routes, and diversion signs will point to Eastern Avenue.
Discussions are currently taking place with Sainsbury’s and with Go Ahead buses to minimise the impact of the work.
The work is necessary because the existing bridge is coming to the end of this life. There is currently a weight restriction on the bridge for safety reasons, but traffic engineers are looking at keeping a weight restriction on the new bridge for environmental reasons.
Ron Beadle has asked for Network Rail to provide more information to local people, and we will post more information here when we have an update.

This will help the reliability of 93/94.
