(anyone know where Prood hoe is?)

This announcer is called Celia in the railway world and announces at all Tyne Valley stations and majority of stations in south west England.
Only professional automated voice is called Anne, she announces at all major London stations ( Kings Cross etc ) and various other stations managed by network rail ( Leeds , Manchester Piccadly etc )

(17 Nov 2015, 5:24 pm)Dan wrote Unsure how noteworthy this is as I haven't been to Sunderland station for quite some time...

The male who announces train departures at Sunderland station has been replaced by a new female, more robotic voice.

More work has been done to include other stations served, other than simply stating that the train goes to South Hylton or Airport.

Not sure if this would be more appropriate in another thread or not - the Northern Rail announcements have been updated too (anyone know where Prood hoe is?)

Or South Gossforrth or Aiiiirrrrporrrttt

Its in "Prudda"!

Shame the voice has been replaced, I always like Lee Sayer's(the male voice) announcements. I wonder how many passengers think its actually just a computer automated voice?

I'd argue that breaching the contract, and then 'deliberately misleading' the customer (Nexus) are grounds for termination. I can't see it happening though.

Of course, we need too know if this finding is even true but there could also be other factors behind why less trains(most likely it just be peak trains that would be missing) are being run such as shortage of stock.

Its no secret DBTW has been failing in the maintenance side of things so basically one problem they cause leads to another. The fact 4 units are away at a time for refurbishment and plus units which are out of service either due to faults or maintenance.
MrFozz   18 Nov 2015, 2:25 pm
What does it say for Nexus, who apparantly failed to spot DB were not honouring there side of the contract

This is off 1 hour ago:

There are no trains running between St James and Monument in both directions until further notice. This is due to essential maintenance. We are currently operating a bus replacement service, the number 900, calling at or near to all stations between St James and Monument. We will update you once we have more information.

Who's running this and a few people on Facebook are confused as they don't know if its 1 stop or all around the Coast.

Go North East has provided two vehicles, 3972 and 3973, for the Metro Replacement.

Although it perhaps could be explained better, I think common sence should also apply and that if it was all the way around the coast, not only this would be said but you would also see it explained that people who want to travel between Regent Centre and Airport won't be able to do so.

Sometimes things are just so obvious, people just can't see it.

Once again, the message wasn't clear on Social Media.

A simple "St James is closed due to essential maintenance. All trains are terminating at Monument from The Coast, with Metro Replacement service 900 running from Monument to St James" would have done the job.

The announcements on stations weren't too dissimilar to the above, and it was much clearer.

I don't understand how they seem to get their communications so wrong. It's one of the big things that the "Sort out the Metro" group are pressing them about.

I'm part of this and there was apparently delays on the SH line due to a Horse on the line, also St James is shut for refurb apparently not the essential maintence advertised, personally think the lift has gone so there's no disabled access.

Its definately not being refurbished that is for sure and if one lift is out of order then common sence would be to stop every train onto the opposite platform.

I agree the message on social media was not the best but I don't think it was that difficult to understand either, especially if your local.
