Wifi is useless on Angel vehicles although it does get used by a lot of people as it is CLS busier routes

Have you any specific examples of Wi-Fi not working on the Angel branded buses - fleet numbers and dates?

I ask because I monitor the Wi-Fi usage on every vehicle in the fleet on a weekly basis, and have found no faults with the Angels recently.

I reckon we may see a new (or inspired by others) idea for the X21, rather than sticking with the current brand.

Staying with the theme used by the X84/85 - Weardale Express.
Not sure a certain operator based in Stanhope would take too kindly to that though.

Angel Express - developing links and a common brand identity to the 21.

Not sure if the Weardale Express would work given that Weardale also operate an X21 from Newcastle (despite it following a completely different route).

I quite like the Angel Express idea - better than Pronto in my opinion.

*cough*pro-GNE*cough* the WiFi on 5417 wasn't working earlier. The blind on 6046 needs looking at.

Not pro GNE... It is my job to check the Wi-Fi (which is why I can make an informed post regarding usage) and if I was not on annual leave at the moment, I'd log in and check 5417's session details to see if others have been able to connect...

Have to say, the Vyking's which have had a repaint so far, look much better now.

Weardale's X21 started long before the GNE one, it was certainly introduced by 1977, and those of us who live in Weardale think the dale proper does not begin til Harperley Bank, just past the A68/A689 junction, where a sign says "Welcome to Weardale".  Bishop Auckland would be in the Wear Valley, so you couldn't really call the GNE version of the X21 "Weardale Express".

Wear Valley Express would be a good name I think, ties in the the Wear Valley Saver offered on the 18/X21 between Durham/Bishop Auckland & West Auckland.

You also have the Pronto Saver which is valid across the entire route of the X21, and Angel Saver which is valid on the 21/X21 between Newcastle & Durham though makes the branding meaningless to me, Personally I would scrap the Pronto brand, and go with "WVX" or "Angel Express".

If you follow the logic of the X7 and X9/10 then the GNE X21 would become the Wear Tyne Express.

Doesn't roll of the tongue as easy as Wear/Tyne Tees Xpress though. Tyne Wear Xpress would work better with it Nexus land being known as Tyne & Wear (and only Wear Tyne in the football derby).

Well it certainly rolls off the tongue easier than 'See It, Do It, Sunderland'

Although that's more a promotional livery for Sunderland City Council's joint events company (with private sector partners). I'd imagine GNE benefit from displaying that livery, financially or otherwise.

Did I see 'See It Do It Sunderland' on the side of the HST they have called Spirit of Sunderland?
