Keeping everyone up to date
I had no idea about the mess until Big'un mentioned it. Glad I hadn't ventured out, today.

Any additional aquired deckers could then continue into the 62xx.
I was wondering if this new batch would start off the 3xxx series again, but I am guessing they're waiting for that to be cleared first.

(10 Feb 2016, 8:58 pm)DaveyBowyer wrote If Stanley actually get a hold of the 47 and decide to interwork it with the 45 / 46, how would things stand in terms of allocations? Would GNE be able to justify not using deckers on the 47 in return for better reliability by interworking with the 45 / 46 or would GNE need to perhaps look at deckers?
If GNE were to source more Streetlites for the 45/46/47 if the above was to be the case, with the GKN mods doubtful to be going ahead on 6085 - 6117, do you think GNE would take the opportunity to do the following:
- 6085 and 6104 reverted back to their original state (standard Volvo diesels).
- 6118 and 6119 receive the parts / modifications out of the 2x vehicles above (if possible).
- 6118 and 6119 then form part of the Angel PVR and branded accordingly (could be fitted with NSAs) with 6120 and 6121 acting as corporate spares. No refurbs would be required due to the urban nature of the route although GNE could perhaps re-trim the seats from dealer stock and repaint the poles to white only in 6118 and 6119.
- 3962 and 3965 then either stay at CLS, replace GUP and FUP at Percy Main (DDA regulations) or transfer to Riverside.
(10 Feb 2016, 9:02 pm)S813 FVK wrote It was established that they couldn't interwork as there would be an issue with the specifications of the vehicles with the Red Kite B9s not having plug sockets and NSAs.
(10 Feb 2016, 9:02 pm)Michael wrote Its already been said that it probables won't happen due to the 47 not having plugs.
I think it was Dan who said it.

(11 Feb 2016, 5:42 am)Dan wrote I suppose, if it is planned to happen, Go North East could look at retrofitting power sockets and Next Stop Announcements to the four Volvo B9s, and possibly re-trim the seats in e-leather. That way, passengers on the 45/46 services wouldn't see a downgraded specification as a result of the interworking with service 47.
This is entirely speculation on my part, you understand, rather than anything confirmed, based on the speculation that the operation of service 47 will indeed transfer to Stanley.
I believe that the GKN modifications can be enabled and disabled, so there would be no need for the buses to be "reverted".

Have to say that this is the first time I've been upstairs on 9119 (big'un refuses to catch it) and it's every bit as bouncy as an E400!
