I saw long term closures and diversions in Kendal and Staveley recently and I know the road between Grasmere and Keswick has been closed (a temporary road has been constructed in a field). That is just for the 555!

Not sure on the changes, they haven't got the full details on their site yet, changes should be up soon though. 

Some are for March and some are for April.

I'm going to a crack at the Lakes this year, I was thinking of doing of doing one day from Carlisle and one day from Blackpool whilst I'm on holiday there on the 42 but annoyingly the evening supported runs operated by Kirkby Lonsdale Coach Hire are getting binned in a few weeks time, so the last bus back from Lancaster to Blackpool will be around 6pm. Central Lakes is hard to do in a day I think unless you leave very early which will obviously be hard enough for you.

Keswick & Honister is pretty ok though. 77 is well worth a round trip I reckon.

Hmm... Probably, I will have to have a look at times and such to see how/if feasible it would do in a day or not.

Yeah I'm sure it would be fine though as I think the last ones run onto the 73 to Carlisle.

When it arrived I tried to have a quick chat with the driver but he just shut the doors on me and started talking under his breath.
He couldn't tell the difference between a Dart or a E300

One from the local rag.
Local bus/coach firm Stacey's Coaches has closed for good following the devastating flooding caused by Storm Desmond in December 2015.
The HQ they had is a few hundred metres from Stagecoach's Willowholme depot; this was damaged by the floods too (all the buses were moved into Carlisle City Centre).

Quite fond memories of Stacey's - they used to operate the 185 from Haltwhistle to Carlisle using small Mercedes-Benz minibuses. Used to travel on it a lot!

But it wouldn't have been terminating at Hexham - it would have been heading back to Brampton for Carlisle? Probably just a case of the driver selecting the wrong variant but hey ho!
