RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2016
Will GNE be doing a launch for the new X21 buses and brand?, if so when will it be?

Road closure due to roadworks i believe. Did it still seeve the museum?

No, went straight along the A693, missing the museum plus the stops on Station Cottages and Station Road. It's running around 10 minutes late.

The 8 wouldn't be affected anyway with not going via High Handenhold anymore?

Will have to be sometime after 1st March, (for start of service) as buses are registered NK16 xxx, and are therefore not able to run without tradeplates until 1st day of registration being 1st March for "16" reg plates

I think, even without the number thing, that it is pretty obvious that they will enter service after March 1st given that only 1 has arrived out of 7. Then you have preparations and driver familiarisation to do. Not going to get all that done in 13 days.

Me and Dan were told on Saturday that 3942 and 3943 were joining 3941 at Percy Main. Does anyone know if it's true or not?

I could see that happening, really they are surplus to requirements at Riverside, they have 3963 and 3964 so really they do nothing at present other than very occasionally come out on the TTX or TEN.

Never believe what all drivers say plans change eg some driver said eclipses were moving to Washington to make up PVR they would have to be repainted blue first to make it full livery

It arrived at Saltmeadows Road for repaint into Go North East's corporate livery five days ago - killing two birds with one stone, so to speak, as it was already at Saltmeadows Road for some work.

(16 Feb 2016, 8:23 am)Adrian wrote I have to admit I can't see the logic behind that one. The new and improved Red Arrows brand has been launched in print, so I'd have thought they'd want the buses branded up asap...

I think it's a case of it being difficult to get the Red Arrows off for repaint at the moment.

Three Volvo B9TLs are presently off the road - one for a mechanical fault, one for a window repair (which is the example which has been sighted at Saltmeadows Rd), and one for PSV test. One was also used this morning for Next Stop Announcement testing.

This is why two buses (3872 and 3885) were on loan to Washington Depot today, which weren't required at their 'home depots' due to schools being off.

They probably planned to have the majority repainted and re-branded in line with the service changes at the end of the month, but best laid plans and all...

If there are 3 red arrows there they might as well stay there to get repainted then return to Washington

In other news has anymore streetdecks arrived yet?
