I think it will, its a completely new bus for the company.

The cab of the new Metrocity and the current Solos and 11-plate Versas in Deptford's fleet are almost identical, so minimal driver familiarisation will be required.

I would imagine that it will be on the road within a few days - it needs the destinations programming and ticket machine fitting first.

Completely different, but Hotpoint, Indesit & Creda are recalling Tumble Dryers due to them catching fire.

Perhaps the East Lancs Lolynes should be checked over, as anything could of caused those fires, could even be linked.

Citaro Artics were removed from service in London because of fires.

But it has the same Optare " EcoDrive " Dashboard, Displays and Buttons as in the Euro 5 Versas.

Citaro Artics were removed from service in London because of fires.

The initial batches were temporarily withdrawn to allow them and modified due to a handful of similar fires.

They were removed from service because it was a mayoral pledge to do so, as they were deemed unsuitable for London.

I was clarifying your comments, because it could have been taken as the fires being the sole reason for withdrawal, which as we know was not the case.

Optare have supplied Go North East with one of its Metrocity demonstration models to evaluate it against the forthcoming Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid vehicle type on "Prince Bishops" services 20/20A. It will be used at Go North East for a period of up to one month, and has been allocated fleet number 9102.

Due to roadworks on Heworth, service 27 is delayed by upto 30 minutes towards Newcastle. Some journeys diverted via Felling by pass

The other 3 omnicities from Cobalt Connect, meaning the Eclipses will move to the 19?

The Eclipses should be ok on the 19, pretty powerful so should cope. Not as good as Omnicities though.

Possibly yeah - I wonder if one of the other Omnicties will go to Washington too as they are never on the 9 so not needed here - only 5273/5274 are really which cover on the 1.

Ye, wonder if they'll get a spare to, they should as the PVR will be 10 then again the 2/2A should but it doesn't.


The 9 could use the Scania's from the 20/20A once the Streetlites are in service.

Could send 5247, 5248 and 5249 all over to Washington replacing a couple of cadets there too and they'll also be better back up for the 88/88A. Then some of the newer Scanias could come here to replace them on the 9 and 17 getting rid of the B10s too.

Think the 1 could do with double deckers too in the next order - however the 22 has taken a lot of the passengers away now so might not be justified but it still gets busy sometimes. Sadly not enough deckers that could be cascaded.
