RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2016
34561 has now re-entered service at Hartlepool having never seem use at Stockton (or indeed, as far as I am aware, having never left Hartlepool in the first place). It's on the 1 today and is the 0914 from Middlesbrough (the one that gets 29 minutes in Middlesbrough)
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2016
I think it did leave Hartlepool for a while, not entirely sure where to, but I saw it parked up in the yard for the first time in quite a while on Wednesday afternoon

Arriva took over most of the services when Stagecoach left Darlington in August 2007.

The period prior to Stagecoach claiming Darlington is the interesting period.
The bus wars, bids and counter-bids really showed up the farce of de-reg.

Arriva Bought out Stagecoach Darlington in 2007 taking on all services, vehicles and depot, Andreos1 is right the Bus wars of 1993/4 in Darlington was an interesting period which lead up to the events of November 1994 on how stagecoach came into darlington and the demise of Darlington Transport

Whilst there has still not been any formal (Official) announcement in relation to the Stagecoach UK Bus New vehicle orders for the 2016/2017 financial year, some of us have now become privy as to what Brand New vehicles Stagecoach North East are expected to receive from the 2016/2017 order book.

I found it useful.  It confirms to those of us 'not in the know' that North East definitely are getting something.

Well it doesn't actually say they are, the answer could be nothing!

Stagecoach North East are certainly receiving New vehicles, but it is up to Stagecoach North East’s own management to announce these at a time of their own choosing. I seem to recall that a young chap (called Dan ?) now working for Go North East posting images of some of their new vehicles before Go North East themselves had held a formal launch/unveiling.

It was interesting to note that shortly afterwards the photos disappeared & he went off the radar for a few days. My guess is he probably had his knuckles wrapped by the company for publishing photographs before Go North East themselves had made their own announcements, so you have to be very careful in these situations. No need to question my name, Mr. S, you were well acquainted with me at one point and I'm fairly sure you wouldn't have forgotten that!

My knuckles were most certainly not rapped, and I chose to stay off all social media (including the likes of Snapchat and Instagram which have no relation to the hobby) for a week or so for personal reasons - had nothing to do with work, and is something I do pretty regularly to be honest... Young chaps like my good self have a habit of obtaining psycho stalkers, you see!  Wink

Do agree that it's up to Stagecoach North East's management to announce the services which are planned to be invested into though - it's commercially sensitive information at the end of the day, especially if it's on a competing service.

I seem to recall that an old chap (called Dicky?), that would regularly post plagiarised Stagecoach fleet cards as his own work, in the form of a PDF document. As impressive as skills in creating embossed shapes and bold italic fonts are, they're probably best kept to an MS Publisher for beginners evening class.

Unfortunately Dicky appeared to be deeply offended by the (quite apt!) 'dick by name - dick by nature' comparisons from certain members, that he threw his toys out the pram, and took a hiatus from the North East Buses forum.

It's my guess that he used his hiatus to count HIS many CONTACTS over and over. Fortunately for him, it's resulted in acquiring the ability to count to five in the process, and without using any fingers or toes. A great day all round.

I agree, but that's what you get from a pointless poster.

If Stagecoach are receiving new vehicles, what do people think the likelihood is that these will be based around the north-east and east of Newcastle; ie Quorum/Cobalt where SNE seem to be taking an interest lately?

And if so, if there are deckers involved going to these routes, will there be many cascades of E400s to the likes of the X82, X47 etc to make them permanent decker routes?

We're now a week into the Middlesbrough changes and its thrown up an interesting workings, thevxx07 12s on a night interwork with the 38, meaning every two hours there's a Zone on the 12 and an unbranded bus on the 38 (tonight 24112 is the second bus)

(11 Apr 2016, 8:43 pm)biglugs@yahoo.com wrote What are 34550/64 usually allocated to?
And if rare workers are on 36s at weekends what bus is it that'll be on?

Hartlepool's Darts should be allocated to the 1, but do appear on the 3/4 occasionally from my last visit (which was before Christmas).
The 1116 36 from Hartlepool can throw up something odd as that is one of the last boards to leave the depot so can get whatever is left.
