(16 Apr 2016, 9:09 am)Dan As such, MPD 557 has transferred to Riverside Depot, for use on the Byker ASDA contract. This will release 9105 to be returned to Optare, if this hasn't occurred already.

549 (NK53 TKD), 559 (NK53 TKY), 666 (NK15 EMJ), 5308 (NK08 CHX), 5369 (NL63 XAZ), 6099 (NL63 YJC), 6100 (NL63 YJD), (7121 (BX65 WDC) & 8326 (NK11 GWX) all in attendance at the Driver Recruitment Day, at the Stadium of Light. 549/559 & 666 were doing the laps around the Car Park while the rest were on the show.

Furthermore having passed Washington Depot this morning, only Omnicities in the Depot were 5257 (NK56 KJJ) & 5260 (NK56 KJU), while 5255 (NK56 KJE) performed the first "Washington Operated" 50 from Chester le Street this morning, no sign of any of the Percy Main examples, guess they will transfer over this evening once the B7RLEs arrive from Riverside.

Small queue of about 20 waiting to do the Test Drive, with a few others standing around talking to the staff on hand when I got there at around 11am, was there for 20 minutes before heading back home.

(17 Apr 2016, 10:44 am)Dan Saltmeadows Road will probably give them a bit of an internal spruce up when they're repainted, similar to the East Lancs Vyking bodied Volvo B7TLs...

I think Andreos1 reported a Prince Bishops Scania L94 with various poles and backs of seats being the wrong colour a few weeks back, and this bus was promptly sent to Saltmeadows Road for a bit of TLC.

I hope so, some look terrible inside.

Hopefully after the Streetlites enter service, other buses will go in for a mid-life refurbishment...

As noted here, the only outstanding transfer from Percy Main is 5244. 5243/45-47 are all in Washington Depot at the moment, but parked in the back yard. You wouldn't have been able to see them from the main road.

4978 - 4982 are all now at Percy Main, too.

I don't see what difference it would make. The chances are, at least 2 B10s will be on the 9 every day of the week.

The PVR of the Coaster 1 reduces to 10 from the normal weekday PVR of 14. There shouldn't ever really be an instance where four "Coaster" branded vehicles are VOR, so there should be no reason why there isn't a full OmniCity allocation (5248/49/73/74) to service 9 on Sundays, really, unless one of them are VOR.

5273 isn't out in service today and 5274 is, for some reason, covering for a branded vehicle on the Coaster, so 4915 and 5154 are both on service 9 today.

Oh no a random type of bus has turned up in place of what is meant to be allocated. Guess we have to cancel the service so no one gets upset that the wrong type of bus has been used.

Howay get real. A bus is a bus, any normal punter will be glad a bus as turned up. They wouldn't be bothered if it's a Volvo or a Scania. Yes if it was years ago and a high floor bus turning up on a low floor route and someone had a pushchair. But that doesn't affect the overall majority of bus passengers.

Heck I've had minibuses (of the Optare MetroRider variety) turning up on big bus routes like the 302 and the 314 on Weekdays. (Strangely enough it was J-Reg MetroRider 345 both times.) And I've also had big buses turn up on Minibus routes, 4768 on the 321 being on memorable one because there is a photo in my Flickr pile awaiting to be uploaded.
