I loved that series.

And the remake wasn't too bad.

I haven't watched the remake but I've heard mixed reviews about it.

I sometimes see the essence of 'Grot' in some of the trends of today though. In some ways, Grot was way ahead of its time.

Arriva rare and odd workings thread(?).

I was going to express by views on the issue but chose not to just to stop a debate taking the threat further off topic.

Didn't like the remake at all.

Mind the the Rise and Fall of Sue Nicholls (sp?) during that period was interesting.

Reggie Perrin > Coronation St via Rentaghost.

I just realised you'd replied to me with this, but it had got left on the end of the previous page.

I sometimes feel like I'm speaking out of turn, but it had to be said in this case. Pretty much everyone has their foibles, here and a little tolerance and, dare I say, kindness, goes a long way. (One of mine is being too lazy to always go back and correct myself when I've missed a capital letter, which probably infuriates some people.)

I may have to buy a copy of Woman's Weekly in her memory. She was one of my favourite comedians, growing up.

Aye, quite shocking how many celebrities have died in 2016 so far.

Absolutely disgusting in my opinion, it is low using the murder of someone for your own ends...

Who are Britain First anyway? Are they just another BNP/EDL/National Front of wannabe Nazis?

Lee Rigby’s family have condemned far-right group Britain First using the Fusilier’s image in their party political broadcast.

They have distanced themselves from the election broadcast which refers to his murder in an apparent attempt to further Britain First’s agenda.

In a statement, Fusilier Rigby’s mother Lyn said that her son, who was killed by Islamist extremists in 2013, did not believe in Britain First’s views and the family had repeatedly asked them not to use his name to promote their cause.

The broadcast in support of Britain First’s candidate for London mayor Paul Golding was shown on BBC and ITV tonight – the evening of April 20.

Not surprised it's a load of crap anyway.

Something better will take the Newcastle one I'm sure but not sure about Metrocentre as they already have a lot of empty units.

Hardly surprising. The stores were a mess and the quality of what they sold hardly great. Their home stuff was OK, but Wilko and other places have stolen their thunder with similar quality for cheaper, on that front.

That said, I did get Big'un one of the multitude of winter coats he'll need for next year for £10.90, in the Hartlepool store, the other week. Hopefully, he won't have outgrown it before he even wears it!

I signed up to the organ donor register a couple of months ago.(been meaning to for years - used to have a card, but ex objected to it).

I can't donate blood, though. I've already had a whole body full in transfusions, so that excludes me.

Only ever used to go in with my mam and she always used to say they had crap and there was nothing in the mens section when I went. Could get better for less in Primark!

What were the coats like? Looking for a new coat (albeit not a winter one but a summer one).
