It was there at 20:30 as well but pointing in the direction of Darlington this time

Scary moment on 1465 last night. It arrived at West Park in Darlington on inbound 1B at 9pm with smoke billowing from front left wheel arch. Driver evacuated the vehicle and called for assistance. Brake rims could be seen glowing bright red. Help came in the former of a Frequenta solo (2853) which worked the remaining board to Darlington - Crook - Darlington - Faverdale. 1465 recovered to the depot with an apparent seized brake caliper.

The 22/24 are currently interworking due to an extra bus being used to help with delays from roadworks in Durham.

Half the time it's probably the result of the 6 requiring the 24 branded Enviro 400's for the school runs the 6 interwork with when the 6 branded examples are VOR etc.

Currently on 1511 on service X66 and it surprisingly has next stop announcements for the X66. Pity they are in the standard format and no doubt the stops round Hartburn won't be announced as the daytime X66 destination screen has been selected.

EDIT: yup, jumped straight from Great Burdon to High Street Stand 10.

Darlington somehow ended up with 2814 the other day.  A supervisor went to collect it from Durham but it was on the road.  It was agreed for the supervisor to take a Darlo bus back to Durham until 2814 was released from service, at which point they'd then meet up in Aycliffe Village or somewhere near there to swap vehicles.

Running through to Bridlington was tried at one time - was it the bus from Redcar?

The idea of running additional late evening services from Whitby, or indeed Scarborough, is just incredulous! I had the misfortune to have to catch a train back to Hartlepool on Saturday last, a train that had originated in Whitby and was just an extension of the revellers who clearly have no respect or interest in the wider travelling public or the crews who have to suffer these services. Imagine then just how a single crewed decker full of these morons would fare.

Well it doesn't use Nexus branded vehicles

On any late bus service there's the possibility of a few rowdy passengers, unfortunately, but the Whitby area doesn't suffer more of these than around Teesside or anywhere else that has some later buses.

The fact is there isnt the demand : If there was enough passengers to fill a double decker at 9, 10 , 11 pm at night, they'd be running them.

I used to work in Whitby on an evening and got the 5 back to Loftus at either 9.10 or 11.10pm....these were the last two buses, and both had very few people on them, even in the summer. Bums on seats is what it all boils down to.

Think it'll be the 15s first before 63 gets done.

Talking of the 63's - I am told 1435 & 7416 have been swapped back following the end of trial on X93 for 7416.

Thanks for that Scott. I guess 7416 wasn't a success on the 93's? Have they put 1808 back together again? How's it doing? Any idea?

Has only 2807 being branded so far or are there others in service?

Never even realised that the launch was today, possibly because they didn't include the launch details within the posts on Facebook, you had to click the links and view a page on their website to find that out. Find that a slightly poor way to advertise the event as I imagine many people like me can't be bothered clicking through links on Facebook posts.

Only 2807. I would guess 2803/4/29 might get done tonight.

I believe the 63s are getting done before the 15s as they don't want the 15s to start til the Durham Rd diversion ends.

2807 does not have an offside advertisement holder - so where is the large offside Frequenta vinyl, with the 'up to' frequency?

So three different towns/cities have now been frequenta launched and all 3 have different types of branding, how does that work?
