(13 May 2016, 6:52 pm)Versa5389 It must have went straight from Chester le Street to Saltmeadows for repaint.

Yes, that's correct.

Was due to go to Saltmeadows on the morning it was used at Chester-le-Street, but had to cover for a shortage of vehicles temporarily.

Is there an issue with the route details for the side of the PB Streetlites?  Its just with none of them having them on and 5423, which did originally have them, having them removed.

IIRC, it was reported yesterday that 4904 failed - probably hastened a decision that was going to have to be made sooner, rather than later, anyhow. (Bit like when we spent an hour crawling up the A1 from Scotch Corner in limp mode, in our last car, after a series of annoying "events")

Why hasn't Citylink 5384 been in service? Haven't seen it for a while and I believe it is being covered by 4964 today.

(13 May 2016, 6:51 pm)Jimmi Sampled some of the new StreetLite's on the 20/20A today, I quite like them and they are an improvement on the Solar's previously used which I also rode today. One thing I noticed about the next stop announcements is the audio announcement stating the route and destination, was something like "This is the Prince Bishops 20A to South Shields" although it plays this announcement a few times over the course of a journey. One issue I have with them is the lack of stopping bells on these (plus the other examples already in the fleet), in certain spots you have to walk down the bus just to press a bell. Think I was the first passenger to board 5424 this afternoon after we were swapped onto it from 4972 in Park Lane, can only assume this was it's first journey as there was a mad rush to get some photos of this one! Tongue
I can't remember the exact spec or detail, but I am sure bells are mentioned in the DDA regs.

Bell pushes (communication device)
Must be within reach of every priority seat
Adjacent to no less than every third row of seats
No higher than 1200mm from floor for seated passengers
No higher than 1500mm from floor for standing passengers
 Contrasting colour
When pressed, activate an audible and visual device (on each deck in case of double decks) that is visible to the majority of passengers

I assume the bells on the Streetlites meet these criteria.
