Go North East are expecting over 1000 people in attendance at tomorrow's event, over the course of the day.

Wouldn't be small if people joined it

(21 May 2016, 7:21 pm)BusLoverMum wrote Well, yeah - more the case of how frequent is it!

I think it is very frequent to be honest.  For people wanting to have a go at driving a bus, this is happening in the Metrocentre Coach Park, so there should be plenty of buses going to/from Riverside.

How old do you have to be to drive round the coach park?

You'll have to be at least 18 and/or be able to drive a car.

I would assume an adult, 17+ and holding a full license, mind I have done an Admiral young driver thing if that counts and I'm only six years off 17 Tongue

We'd never heard of it until we picked up one of their publications at the Model Bus Fair, the other week.

OK, cheers. Don't fancy walking it with littl'un. He's a bit bouncy and unpredictable (and not so little, any more)

And it's all moot, now - look like littl'un isn't going to be fit to venture far from home, tomorrow.

So there'll probably just be the two of us - catching the bus!

A lie in - oh it must be nice! [emoji14]

We are currently live from Deptford, and I'll be at Washington (then Riverside afterwards) in less than 8 hours time.

Those of you at the Open Day tomorrow will be able to go through the bus wash...

It's not quite as appealing at 1 in the morning when the wash has been turned off for the night but hey ho!

On the B9's stop announcements, has any other routes been included on them?

4, 21, X1, evening X21 and N56.

6099 and 6100 will be updated again in the future with the announcements for services 20/20A and indiGo Peterlee services (mainly the 265 from Durham to Seaham - the B9s regularly crop up on Deptford's PM allocated double-deck 265).

The 56s now also have announcements for the morning journeys via Peel Retail Park and evening/Sunday journeys via Springwell Estate (providing the driver selects the correct destination).

There will be a full fleet update again at Deptford when the Drifter and Coast & Country is re-launched. Deptford now operate a morning peak 8A service to Waterview Park using a Fab56 double-deck, so it makes sense to provide Next Stop Announcements if the allocated vehicle has the ability to do so! Similarly, the red spare Streetlites are likely to crop up on the Drifter a fair bit, so it makes sense to programme these too.

Lots of things going on and it takes forever and a day to build the PowerPoints, so it'll take quite a while but we will get there eventually!
