RE: Tender Discussion Thread
(30 Mar 2016, 10:14 pm)Adrian wrote Just a thought, but perhaps the upcoming devolution decision is causing Nexus to not get into any long term contracts?

If devolution goes through, NECA would be responsible for transport in Durham and Northumberland too, resulting in a complete overhaul of how Nexus is funded.

There was a feature on this during Look North last night.
With Gateshead opting out, there are concerns about a transport black hole in that area.

I think the results were meant to be announced this week, but I've not had anything back from Nexus yet!

Will post as soon as I know. Smile

I would have thought they would be. Isn't the renewal date next month?
RE: Tender Discussion Thread
Go north east could take on the night time 17 and 19 too?
59/359 would be essy for them to do.
Even the 333

All operated by percy main.
Would be good for them if this happened.

Hopefully they do get those back on a night, GNE got the 82/82A back, so they should go in for them.
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

Do they have enough Solos to cover the 17, 17A 19, 40 and 41 on a night time?

Yep theres only two indiGo solos left out on a night time so leaves 7 spare plus 4 nexus branded solos.

Ah right I thought only a couple of B10s were used on a night time - seems to be a few B7s used too which seems a bit of a waste.

Would be canny for GNE to take on the 17 on Evening/Sundays. Phoenix are shocking, miss out stops all the time, don't turn up etc.
RE: Tender Discussion Thread
(20 May 2016, 8:30 pm)dannygee wrote Yep theres quite a few B10s out. Shouldnt be a B7 sometimes theres a omnicity on.
Heard a few people say phoenix might not big for 333 or 17s

Hopefully GNE have bid for the Whitley bay town work and the 17/19 on a night time/Sunday then. Hate routes that have 2 or 3 operators running them as some drivers on Arriva don't accept Buzzfare etc. even though they are meant to.

Yep would be good to see GNE get some more work especially on routes they do anyway

Just saw this now - do they have enough buses to cover all them, as well as the K1/K2 as that isn't up for tender I don't think.

Not sure if they do at this stage, I imagine if they are to take on these contracts, more buses would be acquired to fulfill the contracts if required. It was also said that they've had an increase on the license on the number of vehicles that can be stored at their depot at Blyth, no idea if it's related to this or not though.

Ah right this suggests they have got at least some contracts then. Think the PVR for the Whitley Bay services is 5 but not sure on that.
