Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2016

I have a feeling it may be Peterlee, if only because citaro5284 said they were doing some runs on the 237.

Haven't heard anything about it being on the rota at Chester.

During the bridge work diversions the ALDI 'shuttle' service was somewhat depleted - it is an excellent means of avoiding climbing through Hexham to the bus station carrying shopping.

The timetable dated 5th June wasn't printed then, as there was the 'Bus Diversions' leaflet, but it's the correct version now!

To be honest, I haven't heard anything from any of the depots. Only mentioned Chester with it being fairly close to East Rainton and dead mileage being minimal.

If it was Chester, I am sure something could have been sorted so they ran the late/short 36's. Deptford have some canny dead mileage on a night and a smaller vehicle may have been better suited than a Merc.

I think it was said that it was more likely that a MPD will be allocated as the solos are too long for the route. That pretty much withdraws Chester and Peterlee, unless they were to transfer an MPD in. Washington would need another MPD too as all of theirs are allocated to the 85/86 (i think - may have 1 spare) leaving Deptford as the only depot.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - July 2016
Didn't know where to put this, Feel free to move this to another thread.

A very unhealthy sounding MPD 554, Has entered service at Riverside in Debranded NTL green.
Its also on the 88/88A which is pretty unusual for a first day in service at a depot.

Could see Peterlee gaining a MPD, Though id fear it would stray onto different routes than it should.
Though out of Washington and Deptford, Id say Deptford would gain it as most routes around the area are operated by them.

Judging by the hours the 168 runs (starts around 07:05 and finishes around 6pm), I'm guessing it will be standalone, unless it will go onto the evening 237 possibly?

I think that is likely - given previous mentions that Peterlee are doing some of the 237s.

Appreciate they can be found elsewhere, but just tried hunting for the 168 timetable on the GNE site and it ain't there.

I can't see anybody being able to answer your question to be honest as nobody on here works in the area of the company that covers the website (i dont think)

Yet they still have the timetable for the 68 on there, even though Gateshead Central Taxis have operated it for a few months now!

If anyone requires the 168 timetable.

I've just had a look and noticed your post. Must have missed it yesterday.

There's obviously a reason timetables and fare changes aren't going on the site. Goodness knows what that reason is.
Without bringing up a debate that has already been discussed elsewhere on the forum, it needs sorting asap.

No worries!

Must be, but stuff like this should of on the site, whether or not GNE fund the services.
