Arriva North East: Rare & Odd Workings - July 2016

It was on 17s yesterday however, and was meant to be allocated to the 29A (the working 1920 ended up on - which works the 1725 X17).

Using YOUR usual argument, it IS unusual as its not 'booked' for a Solo.

Well, he posts loads of stuff that happens every day as 'unusual' on the basis that its not 'booked' for that bus, so using that argument a Solo on the 17A IS unusual as the original poster (Jimmy) claimed. It IS pretty unusual anyway.

Any reason why?

7533 was on the X20 yesterday.

7533 was on the X20 yesterday.

Overheating issues, and it also stalled on a hill near Cragside, so they're keeping it off as a precaution.

What are they using it on then? I think I possibly saw it on the 35 earlier.

Hopefully they plan to properly fix it...

There's a note to those who do allocations to use it on X20 or 35.

Using a bus, that is being kept from it's usual route because of overheating, on the X20 sounds like a sensible idea...

1404 has now gone out on the 9/29a/X66 bound.
2808 has replaced 1920 on 17

The X20 compared to the X14/15/18 is less of a demanding route.
It should also be noted 7517 hasn't been allocated regularly allocated to the X20 since being held on this restriction.
It has been allocated to the 35, Allocating it to the X20 is a last resort spare.

Hardly, I'd call flat out along various dual carriageways pretty demanding. Less demanding than the X18, granted, but as it's proper allocation is the X14, that's a moot point.

When you read GX03 SVC's post, it certainly doesn't sound like it's used as a 'last resort' on the X20...

Despite requests from engineering for it to be used on MAX service X20, it has been used on service 35/35A for most of its time away from the X14. I also took a photo of it a couple of weeks ago on the 35 I think.

You'd like to think, instead of them demanding it be used on a different route, they'd try and fix the thing...  Angel
