Just thought I'd start a thread for BA.

I flew on G-EUUO to BUD and back on G-EUYE and experienced their new short haul cabin. I have to say, I am a huge fan. New lighting is spot on and the new seats are comfortable compared to the older short haul cabin. More space for the taller of us!

What's more the European Fleet Crew were brilliant.

Aircraft flown on:

I fly once a year to London chaperoned and last time I had G-EUYE, it is marvellous

It's so smart internally, especially with the mood lighting.

Never flown on them, if my aunty wins the lottery she said she would take me on the A318 to New York from City via Shannon

I'd love to do that. Try one of their 77Ws. They are brilliant. That being said, their 744s are still lovely. They certainly do feel study when you're going through some rough skies.

The Cityflyer E190s are wonderful. They have larger legroom due to the take off weight requirements from LCY. Really enjoyed flying on them.

I have a planned trip to New York in 2018 and if United's flight times aren't competent I will fly BA, I have experienced one of the 747s but only when I was two going to Singapore for a trip to Australia in 2007

If I were you, try booking onto one of their 772s. They're doing them up to the same standard as the 77Ws, which have amazing entertainment systems and USB chargers. Just don't click on the moving map on the Panasonic IFE - our crew to DFW were run ragged as it kept on crashing the IFE system! They had to disable the map. Bit annoying but the variety and choice compared to the 744 was brilliant. I would definitely aim for a 772 - or I think some of the EWR rotations are 788s.

I'm doing it for the second time in a week's time! It's such an amazing takeoff/approach. I've never done it on an A318 though. Got another BA Cityflyer E195. Cannot beat them!

Haven't looked at the number of points needed, but got mine building up steadily at the moment. Can all but hope! Doubt they will be anywhere near the number 8222 has (going off the information shared on here about flying activities)

I always claim mine back pretty quick to be honest. I just like travelling too much! They get spent on a European hop.

I really would suggest a trip on a Cityflyer E190 or E170. They are fab little aircraft. I think they've contracted an Eastern Airways aircraft (G-CIXW) for this season, too. It's just a shame I've got to fly Iberia again... Then again, it could be worse - it could have been Vueling. Some friends had an absolute nightmare with them last year with the baggage strike in BCN. Let's just say, Vueling's customer service isn't great, to say the least!

Have either of you tried a BA 77W? I'd strongly recommend a long haul trip on one. They're so nice. Saying that, even though I flew to DFW last year on a 77W, I chose specifically to fly from JFK on the way back to fly on a good old 744. I just love them to fly on. Even when you're being bounced through some turbulence they just feel rock solid - the wings on a 77W get a bit flappy with the curvature!

Never been on a 777 or any of the Embraer stuff. Did a 747 years ago (was KLM, not BA) and loved it. Much prefer the wide body like the 747 or 767.

Did Belfast on a prop from Newcastle once. It was when BA flew in to Aldergrove. Can't remember the type though.

Perhaps a Dash 8?

I am a huge fan of the new Embraer stuff that I've flown on with BA Cityflyer, KLM and AeroMéxico Connect. The E145s are horrific. I've flown a few with AeroMéxico and American Eagle and they are just horrendous. They really feel flimsy and there's no headroom from the moment you walk on. The E170/190s really feel like a classy little jet and it's all 2x2 seating.

I've never been on a 777-200/200ER but the 300ERs are such a nice aircraft. I was genuinely shocked by how quiet they are inside compared to a 744. My only annoyance is that in certain rows they have the IFE boxes under the seat which restricts the legroom. New WT cabins are nicer to look at on the 77Ws compared to the 744s; however, BA's 744 seats in WT are so comfortable.

Have you seen the new A320 cabin for BA? I've flown it twice now and it's really quite classy compared to the old one. Mood lighting on an evening flight back was so nice.

Nice to know about the A320s, I'm on one to Heathrow on the 26th, speaking of mood lighting, Thomson G-FDZY that I flew on to Mallorca where I am currently had mood lighting as do all Thomson 737-800s I think

Which flight are you on? If you book it way in advance they sometimes change the aircraft type to LHR - often worth a quick check. I've had an A319, a good few A320s and an A321 a few times. I'd always rather the A321 - though I haven't had one in a good while :Sady booking to Moscow in October says I have one to Newcastle on the way back. Here's hoping!

I think it was an ATP. Basing that on google images mind and dating them to the year I flew. We got served hot food too!

Being totally honest - I never noticed if I have been  on a refurbished A320. Flown on them regularly, but normally too busy looking out of the window! Or eating my snacks.

I have noticed mood lighting on some of the charter aircraft. Thomsons have done their 737's - noticed them a few years ago. Similar in set-up to the 787 by all accounts, just not as good!

I am excited, I discovered G-TTOE (one of two planes with the pinnacle seating layout) is flying me down on BA1333 today!

G-TTOE was great, made the most of being upgraded to 1C. However it was a palaver because I thought (as did my aunty and parents) that I was an unaccompanied child and Newcastle check-in staff agreed. The cabin crew thought I needed escorting so I was moved to row 1 and I had to wait until everyone had got off the plane at Heathrow before being chaperoned off and a lot of forms needed filling out and apparently the Newcastle staff will be investigated. I will wait and see about tomorrow when G-EUOE fly's me home on BA1332.

Following on from the conversations about new interiors and seating, I am trying to track the aircraft I used, by their call sign.

Tracked the callsigns via the BA app, but having looked at flight radar,  it doesn't go back too far (and just misses off the last lot of dates I flew).

Any ideas?

G-EUOH flew me home today with a 45 minute delay on BA1332, disappointed in comparison to G-TTOE. I thought the plane was to small for the route and people were being asked to put hand baggage in the hold, not mega impressed with T5 at Heathrow either with this being the first time I could really see it. I wasnot chaperoned.

This is common to be honest with this route. It's the fact many people do long haul and transfer on. Plus, the limits aren't as strict as the likes of FR and U2.

I had a G-LCYG to MAD and she was fantastic! Shame my Iberia flight was 4 hours late. We boarded, had engines running for 40 minutes and were told to take our stuff and leave the aircraft as quickly as possible.

Alex Cruz has seemingly had his wicked way and has introduced BOB catering to BA short haul. At least it's M&S apparently and I might actually get a decent amount of crisps and some decent offerings. That being said, I have to say the falafel I got for free on LCY-MAD with Cityflyer was pretty amazing.
