It is currently at Saltmeadows Road Depot having a manual ramp fitted and should also gain the seats from another recently withdrawn MPD which has already been re-trimmed, prior to PSV test next week.

Thank you.

That's correct - 6141, 6142 and 6144 will all be re-trimmed prior to entering service.

Quick question about the X9. When heading south, it continues on the A19 to Wynyard services, struggles through the traffic (particularly a peak times) and works its way on to the old A19/Wolviston Road.
Wouldn't it be easier to take the first exit for Billingham off the A19? It would certainly save a few minutes and miles!

Ditto (north and south) when it uses a section of Wolviston Road and Station Road. Why not Station Road for its entirety?

It's something I have wondered for a while now and whilst there is obviously a reason for it, wondered if anyone knows why.

Not too sure on the first point, but using Wolviston Road/Station Road is probably taking out the risk of being stuck at the level crossing, but still being able to access the stops at the green

As 628? (newly branded solo) on 700.

Something to do with the Snowdogs. Not sure if the dog is called Gooch or if it is something else.

Yeah, what you said about the level crossing makes sense. I'm trying to tally up the times of the schedule passenger trains and the X9 - but failing miserably.
Obviously there's any other goods stuff passing by too.

Question, do these Omnidekkas for DFDS spell the end for a dedicated DFDS livery?

It seems 'no time at all' since the current DFDS deckers were painted.

Not sure if this has been mentioned recently but I can't seem to remember, has 4919 been withdrawn from Riverside?? Only it's still down on the site fleet list, but is withdrawn according to the GNE allocation. Thanks in advance!

It was reinstated after a few days of being withdrawn:

I believe 4897 will be selected for withdrawal instead.

4922, which was also noted as having been withdrawn, was reinstated yesterday (allocated to services 67/69).

Soon i hope, i think they're busy getting the Omnidekka's from Brighton and the Solo's from Thames Travel sorted first before branding takes place.

Also expect the X7 brand to be removed soon too and probables repainted.

Question:

Have anymore Omnidekka's arrived since 6141, 6142, 6144 arrived?

gtom Wrote: wroteWas at a presentation this morning in regards to the new Emergency Care Centre at the QE in Gateshead.

One tidbit was that they are in advanced negotiations with Go Ahead to bring the bus services onto site once the centre opens in October/November. Discussions have been positive so far.

(for anyone wondering there's obviously going to be a brand new entrance and route built as at present you couldn't get a bus onsite)

Just digging through an old thread to find this.
Does anyone know what happened to this story from March/April 14? The new Emergency Care unit has been there a while now and there ain't no buses parking up outside.

They've moved the bus stops outside the QE but there's no real safe crossing point.

No hope you'd get anything bigger than a Solo into the QE. Don't think you really need it, it's 5 minutes very slow walking from entrance to bus stop. (for the 93/94 /67/89/69) Admittedly the Old Durham Road stops, particularly northbound are a hike

Funny, the from the archives news post that popped up was about a dart being painted silver in preparation for branding for the 39 Big Grin

My one venture into the QE was by taxi. Even if I could have caught a bus there, I couldn't bleeding walk to the bus stop, at the time!

Both stops on Old Durham Road are a hike. A wet and cold hike at times.

I'd be surprised if it was every a realistic proposition, to be honest.

In the final days of GNE operating the staff shuttle, I recall seeing some poor sap shoe horning 4906 round!

549 had a leak in Park Lane after swapping with 5204 on 38.
570 failed in Columbia, I'd only just had it 40-45 minutes before hand.
