Metro is £3.50 for a B+C day saver - although I imagine the 35 is quicker than changing at Pelaw

Was it the 35 or was it a SC E service? Just curious.

You can't get returns on Stagecoach - only singles and day tickets.

£3.80 Dayrider from Stagecoach is probably even better value for Sun-SSh for most people - assuming they need to get into Sunderland on a Stagecoach bus etc beforehand.

Simplified pricing - don't you just love it?

Looking at it from eezypeazy's 'glass half full' perspective - you travelled in the warmth, sitting on a luxurious Lime Green, Wright Renown bus, powered by a state of the art Volvo Engine, that won't be far off its 15th Birthday.
Despite feeling violated, you whizzed along Picktree Lane, ambled through Rickleton Village Centre, sat back as you navigated your way through Harraton, gazed at the historic arts centre, before weaving your way along Titchfield Road and the Galleries access roads and reaching the next point on your journey.

Isn't it wonderful to think the £3.15 you paid contributed towards the drivers wages and added to the pot of money being pooled in the GNE kitty - whilst seeing those wonderful sights during your journey?

Great aint it. I get to go to all these places that I have no desire to go to.

A kid can get from Newcastle to Carlisle for £3.00? If thats the case and a 5 mile trip up the road is 15p more for an adult, then the world is screwed.

Do any other industries simplify pricing in this way? You wouldn't get a chip shop selling you fish and chips, or just chips by themselves for the same price. Same way you either buy a pint or a half from a pub and it's a different price.

High Level Bridge North to Queen Elizabeth Hospital costs £2.60 on the 56, but £1.95 on the 57.

Don't forget an 11 year old travelling from Houghton to Chester without a key card is £3.15 - 15p more than that trip....

Thats a bloody disgrace that. But when I lost my bus pass (POP Card and Key Card, along with £10) I got charged £2.60 from Battle Hill to Newcastle on the 58. For the rest of the week I just used the 306/308 if going to Newcastle because it was only 80p!

I have both cards - just in case I need them.
I use my POP card daily Mon-Fri, but if I need to go outside of Tyne & Wear on weekends, I'll use my Key Card instead. From Houghton to Chester, I'd need to be buying a £3.65 Get Around day ticket, as I couldn't use my POP card for obvious reasons.

Wonder what the uptake compared to usage of Key cars in Tyne & Wear is.
If living and travelling in Tyne & Wear, it makes no sense having anything but the Pop card.

However, having it 'just incase', does make sense.
One journey into Co Durham a year, would be worth applying for one.
