6137 (or 27 - definitely looked like a 7 at the end) also looks to have been partially repainted into the new corporate livery too.

3888 should have also had them removed now.

6137 is the one which has been repainted - was done yesterday. 5216 done today.

I would have liked it if they had replaced the old logo on the front with the new one as used on the rest of the branding but other than that, it looks really good.

Orange variation on 6145, again with a mix of the old and new logos:

The old logos were applied when repainted and should have been removed when branded up - a slight oversight by the third party company who vinyls Go North East's buses up, I'd assume.

Going forward, could you please Private Message me with any faults? That, or contact Go North East through the appropriate channels (ie via Customer Services)?

I'm off work until the middle of January so can't investigate until then but I don't think this constitutes as latest news.

For a member off this forum for 2 years im still bad for remembering to PM you,my apologies

Its not a significant item but 5378 has gained a Colour RN front display: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dansnorthe...ateposted/

Zooming in also shows the annoyance with this type of display in Helen - the colour of the route number doesn't seem able to be changed on its own and the background colour must be changed too which, in this case, would be black.

To commemorate the final day of Volvo Olympian service with Go North East, 3822 (S822 OFT) was taken for an excursion this morning, leaving Stanley depot, heading to Chester-le-Street depot, then through to Durham and back to the depot via Lanchester.

Hopefully the scholars allocations are fluid so I don't end up with a B7 every day - the space at the back downstairs is atrocious!

Refreshing to know that no one was notified of this " excursion " any earlier, As I'm sure a lot of Enthusiast's would've jumped at the chance to ride one for the last time, Or get a photo of one for the last time.....

I agree that it is a pity. I would have much preferred the event to be open invitation, and supported with publicity by Go North East, like the other similar events which have taken place around the country this week.

I only found about the event myself half an hour before the bus was due to depart Stanley Depot this morning. I am led to believe it was all very last minute, hence why there wasn't many people which knew about it.

Indeed. I was only notified of it late yesterday evening.

It won't be for the last time to get a photo of one, nor have we actually said farewell to the Olympians from the Go North East fleet. 3 will be retained at Riverside for the Jewish scholars (and maybe one at Stanley confined to taxi only boards until the 6132-3888 exchange happens?)

I would have loved to come to the event though, even if I have spent many bus journeys on them.

And I bloody drove past you twice (you didn't see me go down) at Chester Le Street. Me and Half Pint decided there was nothing worth hanging around for, so decided to head to Durham for a hour, then onto Bishop Auckland.
