(14 Jan 2017, 10:12 am)S813 FVK wrote To create any understanding of the livery, i think its your responsibility to go and find out yourself (and that goes to anybody who doesn't know) - especially as i would say that it is good to have as much local knowledge as possible. I wouldn't say it is the responsibility of the bus as it isn't an advert and, therefore, does not need to take seconds to read.

The small poems on the side are the work of pitman poet Tommy Armstrong himself and also some of the primary and secondary schools in and around Stanley. A poem certainly should not take so little time to read that you don't need to stop.

As GX03 said, it explains why 6132 went to Percy Main instead of 6143. A bus involving a pitman poet and Stanley operating in an area more associated with the shipping industry wouldn't quite work, would it?  Tongue

Do we imagine once the advertisement is over, it will go to Percy Main for DFDS to replace one of the 51 reg tridents?

Go North East have appointed Bluegrass Research to carry out a survey with the Passenger Panel on the subject of Contactless Payment. An extract from the email to Panel Members is shown below.

As a member of the Go North East Passenger Panel, we would like to invite you to take part in a short survey. We would like to know more about your usage of contactless payments and your opinion of paying for bus tickets in this way.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - January 2017
Has 699 still not had it's MOT done?

Hopefully when it's done, it's the first one branded meaning rest of the buses can start to get the brand, still think the 38 should of joined it....

I filled this one in, too. It's the first survey I've had as a member of the panel.

Survey sounds interesting. Targeting people via email is a positive sign but with Arriva and stagecoach already offering, looks reactive

Is the same one as spotted at Wrights before Christmas?

If so, the others spotted at Wrights should also be here in England.

Midnight Blue Streetlites 5445, 5446, 5447 and 5449, as well as red/blue Streetlites 5451 and 5452 were on last night's shipping from Belfast to Heysham.

The one in the above photograph is 5451.

Yes, the white strip on the most recent new corporate livery repaints has been done as a vinyl as opposed to paint, meaning that the size of the 'swoop' will be consistent.

Cool thanks Dan, do you know where about's the photo of 5451 was taken?

Hopefully the above buses will arrive soon and out in service quickly, so they can start repainting the Citaro's.

Can you confirm where the Citaro's from the Durham Diamond are going yet?

Is it just me, or even with the stripe, will it still look different to 5439?

On the one on delivery from Wright's, the raised rear part is completely blue. There is red present after the stripe on 5439. https://www.flickr.com/photos/bazza90/31984675101/in/

It was taken in Galgorm, near the Wrightbus factory, whilst on road test.

I see the "Fast Cats" branded Scania L94s are now undergoing repaint into the new corporate livery...

This is why the white swoop will now be done in vinyl - consistency for the size across all vehicles in the fleet.

Good job nobody other than enthusiasts will notice the guinea-pig Streetlite being slightly different compared to any future Streetlites! I doubt anyone outside of the enthusiast community noticed that the first bus which was repainted into Go North East red (from red, yellow and blue) used a different font for the 'Northern' lettering at the time that livery was rolled out:

Tongue, is the Citaro's on the 9 a permanent allocation or will it be changed to Scania's after all the Streetlites arrive?

Good that it's actually been painted this time round like 😛
Last time it went in for backside repairs and paint, it came out unpainted and I thought I was going blind!
Good Stanley wasn't short like then, though.
