Just been brought to my attention too... as a few of mine are on there.
There's a Stagecoach one too: https://stagecoachbusways.wordpress.com/

Not only are the pictures stolen, so are the captions. There are a few pictures with Watermarks too.

I cannot seem to manage to view the blogs, Is it worth making a account to see if any of my photos have been stolen or not?

(19 Jan 2017, 2:12 pm)Jimmi wrote More stolen photos, on Flickr this time: https://www.flickr.com/photos/75375390@N04/

Just a heads up on this, we now know exactly who this fella is, it's a bloke called Bryan Greer, who has been removed from the NE based enthusiast groups on Facebook, from where he was getting his photos.

Similarly, he's been removed from a couple of groups that I share admin roles in.
Both websites have been made private to none-WordPress subscribed users............ I have submitted the site for copyright review, before the individual made it private.

Not sure if Sean Blair is present on the forum or is already aware, but buzz feed are using his image in a 'listicle' about Newcastle. I'm sure the advert laden article breaks the Creative Commons non commercial use criteria of His image!

I'm more than happy for them to use my photos for promotional purposes, providing they contact me for requesting permission first. But this social media guy seems to just take photos left right and centre from various flickr feeds and obviously has no understanding of the copyright law, something of which I will be bringing to GNE's attention.

There you go Malarkey. There's some info you can quote.

I find it quite amazing that staff can find the time to steal photos, yet when notified about drivers performing illegal manoeuvre's, they can't find the time to respond to an email...

(08 Apr 2017, 7:21 am)Dan wrote I'm slightly confused, Andreos1? I'm not condoning the use of photographs without permission, but what has it got to do with a complaint you've made?

The Marketing Department, the staff within it, and the work being done, is completely different to the Customer Services team. That's almost like me saying it's quite amazing that the van which delivers my ASDA shopping was an hour late last night, but another member of staff at ASDA in Boldon found the time to put another loaf of bread out on the shelf.

For the likes of Arriva, their Customer Services team are based in a completely different part of the country, to where the marketing team is based. How can the work being done by both departments be compared? I'm not sure what your line of work is, but I'm sure there's a good chance that anecdotes could be created for other companies, outside of this industry.

Huh Huh

I wonder if it gives an example or is symptomatic of the culture or attitudes shown by the organisation?
Staff using copyright images without consent, drivers breaking the law when driving a vehicle carrying passengers and staff failing to respond to correspondence about said driving...

Arrogance is a word that jumps to mind.

Are they losing a route too? What sort of space is there to accomodate the PVR?

I am not legally qualified to give legal advice, but have some commercial experience to advise a possible line of action:
I'd suggest you send an invoice to GNE marketing dept for a "reasonable" sum, and wait for a cheque or response. I guess they can say they don't have a contract with you in order for you to raise an invoice, but equally they had no permission from you to use copyright registered photographs. You'll probably hear nothing unless you back up with a Final Demand 30days or so later suggesting legal action (through small claims court) should payment not be forthcoming. - Then I expect you will get paid, as long as the amount is reasonable.

Bit OTT isn't it? I agree they should have asked, but I'd sooner take it as a compliment that someone wanted to use my work on their official marketing. Adam has already said he's not bothered as long as he's asked first, so lets not blow it out of all proportion.

On another note, I'm shifting this and related posts to a more appropriate thread.

I was going to say earlier, I remember some years ago when my photographs were used without permission... I was flattered, more than anything else. At no point did I consider legal action..!
