Interesting that Moorsbus has been extended from Pickering to Thornton-le-Dale, although there is little distance between the two. Seems to be starting earlier this year going by these registrations (Monday May 1st - May Day), the last few years it has been the bank holiday weekend at the end of May.

Just a shame that it looks doubtful that the Arriva North East DalesBus service 830 won't be back due to a lack of funds, unless funding has been found since I last heard about the services' future.

Nice to read that they will be able to travel using their rail tickets.  Suppose this is one of the benefits of having a local bus operation alongside your rail ops.

Odd the X3's morning only!

It appears that those particular X3 trips are the ones that depart Saltburn at practically the same time as the train.

As they will be duplicated, they can't run anything other than the current registered times.

I was at a meeting recently when the ticket acceptance was discussed.
Whilst a positive for passengers in this case, it clearly evidences the points raised about the lack of competition in those areas.
Passengers get a DB operated train or a DB owned bus.

Looking at the options on the Northern website, you can see that in the majority of cases where there's no Arriva bus service, Northern are offering a rail replacement or have some sort of train service.

So they're NOT extra services just duplicates!

They could have registered a short notice change to run at other times.

Slightly off topic but the other Northern Dalesman service 830 will be operated by Preston Bus this year running between Preston Bus Station and Richmond Market Place then continues onto Leyburn as service 859. http://www.dalesbus.org/830.pdf

Can't see any route info for the Middlesbrough - Darlington stretch of the route but it's been given 40 minutes to get between the two which is the same amount of time as it had last year, so I am going to hazard a guess that it would be via Great Burdon, Harrowgate Hill and North Road into Darlington again.

Some changes to the service from last year is apart from running at slightly different times, the service will run via Thwaite and Keld on the morning journey to Ingleton plus the 831 service has been scrapped in favour of a extra run in each direction between Ingleton and Hawes.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but the 472 is being withdrawn from the 21st April, guessing people have favoured the Travelsure services?

Possibly, but I can't see how NCC could justify paying an operator to run a service when there's a commercial alternative regardless of either service's popularity.

I heard it was May thank god they have brought it forward. Arriva's effort of running the 472 has been very poor and the vast majority of locals much prefer to deal with Travelsure than Arriva hence why they've won the war between them.

No, that's just how they now appear on the daily VOSA search. They are all amendments to the existing registration.

EDIT: Including that 86 one - a renumber of the present 870.

I thought service 64 terminated at sherburn and not at high pittington?
