(09 Apr 2017, 3:25 pm)Dan wrote I don't think it will increase boarding times. The barcode scanner is really good. I'm by no means suggesting that anyone tries it, but I've scrumpled up a ticket and then ripped the QR code slightly, and it still scanned with ease.

Just can't see it being quicker than showing your ticket to the driver, initially anyway when people may not be sure what the deal is. But, at the same time, you can't really track usage if you're just showing the driver.

Certainly quicker for a return, granted.

(09 Apr 2017, 7:41 am)Dan wrote Some revised Sunday allocations come into effect from today.

The Sunday operation of services 35A/X5 will now be allocated "Prince Bishops" branded Streetlites
The Sunday operation of services 28/34 will now be allocated "Coast & Country" branded Streetlites

A similar exercise was recently undertaken at Arriva North East's depot in Stockton, with "Sapphire" branded Streetlites being deployed on all of their services.

Tried a bit of soft focusing, but I think it got a bit too grainy. I was standing about 40 meters away, though. Might just be my monitor.

Minibus on the 1 wont work as they go to whitley bay for example
1-newcastle to whitley bay then either wrekenton or kibblesworth on a sunday. No like through the week where the wrekenton do wrekenton all day

Will the New Ticket machines offer Contactless payment?

How long will it take for the whole fleet to have the New Ticket machines installed and operational?
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2017
According to Go north east's fleet list 5234/8 have transferred to Stanley, am I right in assuming these are going to be going on the 6/X70s along with the black Omnidekka's under the 'Toon link' brand?

Difference is a lot of people do know, I'm just messing about.
I think it'll all be public a week before hand with some form of announcement, but I could be wrong.

5333 has just left Park Lane with a engineer driving and the side seats at the back taped off

This was due to passenger being sick on the seats at the back of the vehicle on the service 9 on route from Jarrow.

Every driver's nightmare.  Bad enough on local services, but imagine what it is like on long distance when the driver has to clear the mess up him/herself.

I'd imagine it broke. This is what 6128 did when it broke with its oil leak. May be wrong though. The PSV/misc testing is done at deptford so it cant be that.

It could have also grown wings and flown there too, but lets not fill the forum full of speculation and wild guesses.

I left after I took that photo so I don't know what happened to it.

Talking of failed vehicles, 6086 failed outside Cardinal Hulme School this morning. It may still be there
