Hopefully through put the day more people used it, it looks like the X24 could run on most bank holidays.

22580 looks to have been dragged in and dumped round the back of Slatyford within the last week.
Another is in pieces in the workshops currently. 22514 was allocated on 10/11 this morning, E400MMC and E200MMC also on today.

Left Newcastle 1515 to Sunderland

It's service prepped now, so will be a frequent flyer on there when it's not needed to keep it busy.

Shame it won't be on X34 then instead

Drivers will be trained on the tri-axle Omnilinks so suspect it won't make it's way to Shields in a hurry. Will certainly be a sight on the X24 while it's sat up at Wheatsheaf, a decent way of trialing something against the Omnilinks too...

Well suited to the X24 I think - it's a shame they didn't extend the X24 to Hartlepool though, instead of the X55 being introduced (even if it was once a hour or even two hourly)

Hopefully the X24 does well enough to warrant something else. There seems to be at least one Omnilink off the road on a daily basis, which isn't ideal for a service the company has put a lot of thought (and money) into.

Happy to stand corrected on my initial thoughts about timekeeping issues, as it still seems to cope fairly well at peak times (within the traffic commissioner's window, anyway!) The reliability of the Scanias seems pitiful though - but I think that's the same with most of the Scania Omni single-decks in the region...

28034 is today's gas bus on the X24, with 34605 allocated to service 20 as a result. So two Omnilinks missing today...

Shot themselves in the foot with the Omnilinks. No one else wanted them within the Group for a reason..!
