(20 Dec 2017, 6:00 pm)Dan wrote There'll be no deliveries next week, but they'll resume as normal from the first week in January.
(20 Dec 2017, 6:09 pm)Michael wrote Thought so, least 12 of them should be in service by Christmas.
Is SM open between the 27th-29th December?
(20 Dec 2017, 6:12 pm)Dan wrote Probably only 10, if the two at Heysham Docks are delivered on Friday instead of tomorrow as planned. They would be turned around before New Year, though.
Yes, Saltmeadows Road open those dates. Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day, unlike most other parts of the business.
(20 Dec 2017, 6:15 pm)Michael wrote Least the B5/Omnicities repaints can continue.
When is it planned for the B5's to enter service on the 1?
(19 Dec 2017, 4:31 pm)mb134 wrote Still seems quite shortsighted, as I'm sure GNE would have already been in the process of ordering the Streetdecks in the summer when it was repainted?

Reading on the news, looks like 2 euro 6 Solo's has had to be ordered as part of the contract... hence why the 09 reg solo's weren't branded.[b]
No doubt the 2, 09 Solo's will replace 2 of the MPD's.

From the news:
[b]To provide an extra vehicle in Deptford's fleet whilst members of their own fleet are being used for Route Learning associated with a network review taking place in South Tyneside in late January 2018; this vehicle has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Deptford, on temporary loan.
(20 Dec 2017, 9:27 pm)Andreos1 wrote Weren't those Solo's out and about longer than the recently repainted B5 hybrid?
Re Deptford. A red Solar was spotted this morning on the A19 at Lindisfarne, blinded up for route learning.

(21 Dec 2017, 6:48 am)Dan wrote Cathedral Bus livery has nothing to do with Go North East (or previous operators of the service) - it is specified within the contract that Durham County Council will provide a livery for vehicles operating the service. If no livery is provided, the operator is welcome to use their own fleet livery.
The Scania L94 would have been route-learning the new H1 service, which will be operated by Deptford.
Much the same as last year (or a normal Sunday service).
9 - Prince Bishops Streetlite
20 - Fab56/Fleet livery B9TL
35A - Prince Bishops Streetlite
47 - Red Kite B9TL or Fleet livery OmniDekka
60 - Prince Bishops Streetlite
61 - Black Cats Streetlite
88 - Fleet livery Versa
M6 - Diamond Streetlite (interworks with 6/X30 as normal Sunday)
X5 - Black Cats Streetlite
X21 - Angel Hybrid/StreetDeck
X30 - Diamond Streetlite (interworks with 6/M6 as normal Sunday)
All other allocations are the correct branded vehicle.
Some late evening journeys will be operated by different depots, like last year.

South Tyneside Hospital - Jarrow - Hebburn - Hartleyburn Estate - Lukes Lane - Fellgate Estate - Brockley Whins/Simonside - South Tyneside Hospital in a nutshell, or there abouts.
(21 Dec 2017, 3:01 pm)Panasonic44 wrote Well I have heard from my auntie who has been to meeting about H1 which is going to be hourly service from 10am to 2pm only. Not good timing for visiting hours.
In my opinion H1 should be non stop serving only South Shields Town centre, hospital, Jarrow bus station and hebburn town centre only as hourly service till 9pm Monday to Saturday that will get bus full instead of the way it's going.
H1 is 6 months trial but more likey to fail if demand is low. Or extend 515 to hospital like my opinion.
Is scaina l94 going to be h1 bus or not?
(20 Dec 2017, 9:05 pm)Jamie M wrote 6057 broke at least 4 times on my trip with it to Newcastle, which brings me onto my review of the counter - 6319.
From moment one, it was an improvement. I was expecting double-decker Streetlite, but I was glad to find comfortable back seats. I noticed the lack of a monitor, although I prefer the monitor NSAs, it's hardly a complaint that it was lacking extra visuals.
The ride felt a lot more solid than what the current B5LH's ever offered, as well as the 16 plate Streetdecks. It felt like a premium ride, not just cheap plastic covered up to act like so. The stop/start tech was also a lot more fluid, it was hard to tell when it had cut out or was running.
A sound quality of journey. I don't like the rear adverts, it doesn't fit on the rear cosmetically, nor is the point of it clear. But I gather these won't last forever irrespective of the negative feedback on here about said adverts, and it's safe to assume that if the only major concern of a bus is to splash a bit of paint on, then the company hasn't done too bad!
The advantage of the advertisable features and the eco-friendliness make it more than justifiable to the customer and the operator.
Well done from me.
