It was set up mainly for Hartlepool passengers to use, not Stockton. It only ran from/to Stockton depot at the start/end of the day really.

That's what you get when the big operators have carved up there own areas, there was no way stagecoach going to set up competition against the x10.

It was always setup to fail anyway, operating one vehicle one day per week and then bringing in a coach that had no other work during the week never made any sense. There's no way they could justified any more resources being thrown at it

Lane Closures on the Wearmouth Bridge, Sunderland on Thursday 21 December 2017 for pothole repairs

We've been informed by Sunderland Council that they will be closing 2 of the northbound lanes on the Wearmouth Bridge tomorrow, Thursday 21 December 2017, between approximately 09:30 and 11:00 whilst urgent pothole repairs are undertaken.

Whilst the road will remain open, there may be some localised delays as the slow moving traffic navigates across the bridge.

Stagecoach would like to thank customers for their patience and understanding while the works are carried out.

That reminds me of what First did with the 4/4A(4/5 prior that) where my dad lives in Northampton,Both operated to The Headlands in a loop,both half hourly (i think) except one stopped at Kettering Road and Broadmead Avenue first whilst the other did Kettering Road Then the Headlands then Broadmead Avenue,then First decided to split it into the 7 and 8 which made it no longer operate in a loop,quite a shame really

This is now confirmed, although buses will only serve Stainton in one direction, opposite half hours, one towards Hemlington and one towards Middlesbrough.

We have been informed by Sunderland City Council and Nexus that from Monday 12 February 2018 for approximately 3 weeks phase 1 of the Northern Gateway highways work will be undertaken affecting North Bridge Street and sections of Roker Avenue.

From 09:00 on Monday 12 February, the southbound bus lane (Wheatsheaf to Dame Dorothy Street) will be closed and all services will be diverted via Roker Avenue, Church Street North and Dame Dorothy Street before re-joining their regular route on the Wearmouth Bridge towards Sunderland.

As the main southbound Wheatsheaf stop will be suspended, passengers looking to travel towards/via Sunderland City Centre should use the stops on Roker Avenue (outside the Salvation Army), Church Street North (opposite Lower Dundas Street) or Dame Dorothy Street (near Bonner's Field) during the closure.

From Monday 19 February, there will be possible lane closures North Bridge Street northbound (from the Monkwearmouth Railway Museum to Back North Bridge Street (after Enterprise Car Rental) whilst additional highways works are carried out. Updates will be provided when available.

Stagecoach would like to apologise to passengers for any inconvenience these works may cause and thank customers for their patience and understanding.

15/02/18 - Following the discovery of ducting issues on North Bridge Street, the southbound bus lane is expected to temporarily reopen during Friday 16 February 2018 for a few days. Should this bus lane reopen, buses will revert back to their normal inbound routes and stops towards the City Centre.

We have been informed by Sunderland Council and Nexus that from Sunday 22 April to Friday 4 May 2018, between 20:00 and 06:00 each night, the Southbound section of the A19 (A1290 to A1231) will be closed for essential resurfacing works to take place.

Due to the closure of the A19, the final service X24 each day may have to divert and follow one of the alternative registered routes to Sunderland.

Stagecoach would like to apologise for any inconvenience, delays or disruptions these works may cause and thank passengers for their patience and understanding.
