I don't think I'd feel overly comfortable with it, but I suppose you never know until you try it. It's quite common on trams etc, so maybe it can be successful on buses too?
Always one to embrace new technology, but like you I think I'm pretty sceptical about this one. If the camera goes off, that bus is suddenly deemed unfit for service, and presumably has to wait up to a couple of days for the CCTV contractor to come out and repair the fault. If a driver whacks the wing mirror into a bus stop, into another bus etc, then again, that's another bus off the road. A 'normal' mirror presumably much more easy for a bus operator to get their hands on, if they don't already keep a sufficient number of them in stock.
