Out of curiosity. Why did they get rid of the bendy citaros on the 58 and X66

Awful fuel consumption with them recording around 3-4 miles per gallon

Who needs heroes anyway? Villians have more fun.

Just as a point of historical accuracy, weren't those on the X66 actually Scanias, with just the 58 lumbered with the ex London bendi-Mercs?

Mercs from London also replaced the Scanias on the X66, The Scanias then went onto the X40 which is now the Q3.

Ah yes, now you mention it I do recall the Scanias on the X40, but still no recollection of their replacements on the X66 - probably because I was avoiding the things like the plague! Smile

Think I may have just seen the new base Cobalt Clipper livery heading towards Saltmeadows. Silver with blue rear?

Looks a bit like this livery the Cobalt Clippers had a few years ago

Hoping I'm wrong, but it looks like Ray & Co have been brought in.

It's got to the point where it is perfectly feasible to guess that a livery has been designed by Best Impressions based solely on a diagonal colour split.

That's exactly what I was thinking too! Quite like the new  base livery!

Been Deptford for just over a year now, suppose to be a 12 plate Solo, but they just throw whatever on to be honest. Quite often see 697-700 on.

Obviously I'll try to reserve full judgment until its all vinyled up, but I was a little disappointed to see the refreshed Cobalt Clipper livery was still mostly silver.
I just think against the new bright coloured Arriva 308s, GNE could have changed the 309s/310s to bright red or something to really make them stand out on the Coast Rd. A lot of car users see these buses, and repainting them the same colour might have been a missed opportunity to make them suddenly noticeable again.
Just my first thoughts this morning - I could be proved totally wrong when they have all their graphics/lettering applied.
Smile

And here is 9078 at Gateshead at lunch time being used for driver familiarisation prior to Dan's mid afternoon photo op.

I also caught a photo of 6101 just in the nick of time prior to it going behind the shutters and saltmeadows, also note the position of the NSA screen has been moved during refurb along with the use of dark grey rather than light blue on the interior, 6101 only has one white destination display with the side and rear remaining amber.

It looks smart, looking forward to seeing photos of the inside.

Hope the new branding is set up so it avoids being covered with adverts....-.-

Don't know if I like it. The old interior seemed fine but I don't like change. Could see this as a good move for attracting passengers
