I was sent them by Mark Durham from GNE's marketing team. I have all StreetLite and Citaro liveries.

Many thanks to Dan who slowed down quite nicely so I could get this shot.

No problem - it went down a treat, we did well to keep to keep its appearance at the running day a secret!

I certainly wasn't expecting it until MetroCentre next week.

So what the plan for 6000 going forward Dan?

Heard a few mentioning a coastal service between Sunderland and South Shields today.

Nothing set in stone just yet - it was surplus to requirements at East Yorkshire, so absorbed into the Go North East Special Events fleet for now. It will potentially be used on special events such as airshow, as well as community engagement events and private hire work.

My bet is on something through Seaham, though it couldn't follow the x7 route because of that low bridge, could it?

The was a crowd at the front of 6000 when we hopped on, so apologies for not spotting you, Dan.

Or do what some operators do and run it on random duplicate runs on various routes.

For examples dupes the following services working from current timetables...
Empty from Depot
1 - Whitley Bay (d 1001) to Newcastle (a 1118)
27 - Newcastle (d 1135) to South Shields (a 1249)
20 - South Shields (d 1302) to Sunderland (a 1336)
Then Lunch Break for Driver
78 - Sunderland (d 1441) to Chester Le Street (a 1523)
21 - Chester Le Street (d 1531) to Gateshead (a 1623)
97 - Gateshead (d 1638) to Metrocentre (a 1723)
Return to Depot

Not very ideal, I would prefer to see a service through the Tyne Tunnel if that is allowed?

Should put it out on the likes of the 1, 50/50A and 309 when the weather is nice and warm like what Lothian do.

I don’t think an open top would be suitable to cover on any route with stretches over 30 or 40mph as it wouldn’t be pleasant for passengers on the exposed bit upstairs, and certainly not through the Tyne Tunnel breathing in the fumes.

I can just imagine it on the 50, kids lobbing chewing gum off the top deck in  Chester le Street. At least the local top deck window slammer wouldn't have any windows to slam Big Grin

Imagine it on the X21, all the drunks getting on in Spennymoor would be straight over the edge!

Does anyone know why my QuickChargers charge my phone incredibly slowly (as in 8 hour to full when at 20%) when connected to the 240v outlets onboard now? The 5v2A chargers integrated into the outlets charge my phone at normal speed.
I thought it might have something to do with current limiting on the 240v but the integrated 5v outlets run from this as well.
I've tried multiple chargers on a number of the Castles Express and Angel buses, but they work fine on the Arriva buses

Think this might have already been said previously but heard 45 new buses coming cant remember if July/August or August/ September. 34 of these being D Deckers

Anyone wanting to ride the ex EYMS presidents, seems like 6941 is pretty much a daily allocation to the Saltmeadows ran 1.
