Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions

RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions
Am I the only one that wants the new buses to arrive in September purely for the new plates?

As much as I like the Streetdecks, I just hope they haven't ordered them for the Red Kite services. I think the suspension is way too firm for it to be comfortable on those roads. They're alright on the Angel and Castles Express because the roads are fairly decent (although still not the best)

If it hasn’t already been noted the MD confirmed Enviro 200’s are coming later this year

Which services have a PVR of 3?, seems off just ordering 3 Enviro 400's, unless we are going to see a duel allocation?

Enviro 200MMC and Enviro 400MMC on 1 route

11 Single deckers + 3 double deckers on a route with 13 PVR with 1 spare?

X30 for the low bridge in dunston? With the others to the X31/X70/X71 in the new express design?

Malarkey said the 327. Not convinced myself like.
Wouldn't be surprised to see more changes ahead and what is now a larger PVR, being smaller? Or even a new service?!

Only ones I can see on the fleet list with a PVR of 3 with route branding is Sunderland Connect but doubt it would be that as it’s just had new buses not long ago.

I do have one theory that maybe the X66 could be upgraded to double deckers reducing the need for extra buses as more seats as they do get rather busy at times, just a thought.

The E400MMCs could be for the special events fleet, allowing them to be used on Private Hire opposed to the Volvo B5TLs.

RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions
I have a feeling they are for the 327. There was talk a while ago that they were due for new buses. As there’s only 3 I would suspect they could be to increase the service by 1 and replace the 2 Omnidekkas that don’t have luggage racks afaik 2 don’t actually have them unless that’s changed.

Honestly don't think they would buy new buses for the special events fleet, more likely that would get hand downs.

Lets whittle it down then:
- X30 (if they're low height versions)
- 15/15A (is the route profitable enough?)
- 327 (maybe if funded by DFDS)

33/33A
38/238 (when changes occur)

But i doubt its any of the above, small chance for the X30.

What are the loadings like on these services?

Honestly not sure, never use them.

Streetdeck for the X31/X70/X71
Streetdeck for the 45/46/47
ADL E400MMC (low-height for the X30
ADL E200MMC for the 97

With the 33/33A losing its Solo's, i wonder if Streetlites from the Prince Bishops will go on that route?, can anyone confirm what will go on the 33/33A from the 20th May?

Can't confirm as I don't know, but it would make complete sense to me to put those streetlites on the 33. Just have to see if any of them get repainted over the next couple of weeks.

As I said earlier in the post, I do think they may be for the 15/15A, or a version of that service. Doesn't seem like standard practice to order such a small quantity of a new vehicle type, especially deckers, but with a new MD he may have a different approach.
RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions
If the low height version of the E400MMC is 4200mm (13ft 9in), would that type be able to safely clear the bridge in Dunston which is 14ft 3in?

Of course! Our P+R deckers fit under Marton Bridge. 13ft 11" vs a 14ft Bridge

1x StreetDeck left over... so Chester/Crook spare.
11x E200 for the 4

B9TL replace Omnidekka at Stanley/Chester where necessary, perhaps some cascades to EYMS too.

Think I still stand by my earlier suggestions, with slight amendments on recent developments.

14x StreetDeck for the X1
15x StreetDeck for the 56
1x StreetDeck float spare (significant)
3x ADL E400MMC (low-height) for the X30s
11x ADL E200MMC for the 4

Could the Mercedes from the 4 move onto the Toonlink services replacing the remaining Omnicities/Older mercs?

The 97 would be more likely
RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions
People seem to be convinced that these E200s are for the 4, but isn't the PVR of the 4, 11? It's not like GNE to order no spare buses these days.

I'd go with the E200s being for the 97, and all the deckers going to Consett for the X30/31/70/71 and 45/46/47. The 6 would then go to Riverside.
RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions
(11 May 2019, 8:40 pm)Arcticrossy92 wrote See I thought that, however wasn't it suggested that the Mercs moving onto the X30 was a temp thing.

So with 11x Mercs, the PVR of the X31/6 is 8x and the PVR of the X30 is x3. You could be right!
RE: Go North East: 2018/19 Financial Year Order Predictions
My decker order predictions (minus the 3x E400MMCs)

New:
- 14x OM936 Wright StreetDeck to Washington for X1 (includes spare)

- 8x OM936 Wright StreetDeck to Crook for X21

- 9x OM936 Wright StreetDeck to Deptford for 56

Cascades:
- 6301-05 to Deptford for 56

- 6306 Deptford spare

- 6307 Deptford & Washington float spare

- 6085-6100 to Riverside / Hexham for TVT and refurbished

- 6083 & 6084 remain at Riverside / Hexham as spares

- 6043-44 to Percy Main as spares

- 6045-48 + 6071-82 to Percy Main for Coaster

- 6056-68 to Riverside for CityLink 58 & Blaydon Racers

- 6069-70 to Riverside as spares

- 5x of current Red Arrows B9TLs replace ex London Geminis on X70/X71

- 9x of current Red Arrows B9TLs get positioned around depots acting as spares and allowing older OmniDekkas, Vykings, B7 Geminis and Presidents to be withdrawn.

- Ex London B9TLs either sent to EYMS or retained to assist with above withdrawals

- 6118-21 either put on DFDS or sent to EYMS (or kept warm for the X20 incase GNE get Ashington depot IF Arriva sell in parts). Replaced by 3x StreetLites fron Deptford after PB PVR reduction. Refurbished Mercs sourced elsewhere within fleet to act as spares for Red Kites.

6301 - 6307 would be better at Deptford on Prince Bishops, as they have most of the same features as the StreetLites, minus the tables.
