Looks like Percy Main operate a couple of 57s on a Saturday morning, forgot to mention 6068 was on there on Saturday morning.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2019
If service 310 was to eventually serve Hadrian Park permanently (all day) and replace the 57 North of the Tyne, would the benefits of serving Hadrian Park outweigh any potential passenger complaints of the extra 5 mins or so it would take?

I've got a really strong gut feeling that this will happen now that GNE have changed the stopping arrangements of the 56, not to mention 5x Mercs from the Blaydon Racers + 3x from the 57 (PVR dropped by 3x) that could be put to use on the 6/X31.

A driver mentioned back in January that the late evening 310's serving Hadrian Park would be a "trial" and after speaking to a passenger when I used the 22.20 310 back in April, he along presumably with other residents seem to prefer the old style service like how the 300/305 used to be. The passenger didn't have many positive words to say about the 57 but said that the 300/305 used to be spot on.

Whilst it'd be a relatively easy way of removing buses from the network, the main downside would be the removal of the 57 from the Coast Road corridor (this is competitive where many passengers aren't loyal and choose to get the first bus which arrives at their stop - so a guaranteed loss of revenue attached to this suggestion).

I wouldn't say loss of revenue would be a problem. In fact if anything, the revenue of services 309 & 310 would improve with the number of buses running through Battle Hill per hour being reduced from 15x to 12x (309 & 310 + ANE 306). Further to passengers choosing the first bus that gets to the stop along the Coast Road, that is still an issue with or without the 57 as the majority of passengers prefer using St Mary's / Haymarket so it's normally a case of either the 306/308 or 309/310. GNE however since the 2016 changes, have been more proactive in terms of the timing of services 309 & 310 in order to gain more passengers along that corridor.

I wouldn't be the first person to suggest curtailing the 57 and having the 310 serve Hadrian Park but looking at the current logistics of things, I wouldn't be surprised to see GNE take the opportunity to 'streamline' a particular corridor whilst reducing the PVR and freeing up resources for elsewhere on the network.

On the app its got the 35, down as 35AE, currently heading through Castletown to Heworth

Rest of the 35A's are just 35A

It would be a problem, if they start reducing services in the area though, if it backfired.

That'll be the one that came from South Hetton as a 55 more than likely. Most drivers just put in 35A rather than 35AE on the ticketer after Houghton probably.

Yes, 693.

They'll be swapped on a one-for-one basis (one of the '55' plate Scania L94s is covering for the missing Solo on paper).

I've been told off a driver the following...

The DFDS is not getting new buses.

Also there 3 open toppers expected from EYMS for the Toon Tour which is to be operated from Percy Main.

I'd have thought the DFDS services would be an ideal route for new buses instead of what they have at the minute. Surely you'd want people who don't travel by busto see how nice it is travelling by bus to hopefully convert them in the future. But at the minute, if I bet at the minute they're thinking "I can't wait to get off this bus"

Well, maybe that's a new market they need to break in to

Does the 19 and 42/A interwork now? Think 702 came off 19 to do 42A at 4

The E200MMC, 9076 (YX19 OWA), will be trialled on service 97 at Riverside.

The E400MMC, 9077 (YX19 ONU), will be trialled on services 309/310 at Percy Main.

They'll both be allocated to specific boards for their two-week loan period to Go North East, anticipated that they'll enter service by Friday all being well. The E200MMC may take a little longer given it has the 'smart mirrors' which will increase the amount of time required for driver familiarisation.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but just noticed Washington seem to have some new destinations (or at least the X1 and 4).
The via points have made a return and the X1 has 'Express Service' on a repeat and the 4 seems to just show that it goes via the Galleries now.

Service 5 has via Boldon & Jarrow

Service 50 has via Boldon & Washington then switches to Chester-le-Street

Yes that's right

Or you could get just a red and get off last stop on North Hylton Road by Ferry boat lane and walk over the bridge and get on the opposite side going back. Only a short walk

The footbridge is closed due to works at the moment. A natural diversion is in place but it is longer. Its making my cycle commute longer!

Suspect it will be them three that will be painted in the Toon Tour livery - keeping 6000 in corporate colours perhaps?
Be interesting where they'll slot in fleetnumber wise in relation to 6000 too.
